Although my thoughts are turning to fall and fall transition outfits…because it is September 1, it’s still going to be 96 degrees here today (crazy). So, with that in mind, I thought I would take a few pieces, that can be worn now with a tee or tank, and style them for later in the season. I also styled my favorite chocolate brown dress that I’ve already been wearing, and added a great denim jacket. The only thing you can’t wear now (especially in the South) is the outfit with the cropped sweater. I can’t get it off my mind (or out of my cart). I did add the cutest, and very affordable denim jacket from Gap to the sweater collage as well. It’ll go with everything this fall!

I’m still trying to get one last good couple of weeks out of my summer pieces before I start putting some of them away on that first day of fall. I always look forward to sweater weather, but by the time February rolls around, I’m very sick of the layers. I guess that’s why I love the seasons…just about the time I’m tired of one, another comes along.

Bermuda shorts became a go-to style for me this summer, and the pair I’ve linked here from Reformation is perfect for transitioning into fall. I styled them with a very affordable (under $100) and cute sweater from Boden that will go with everything…I actually ordered it this morning! The Dôen mules are another thing I’m kind of obsessed with, and I love them with this gorgeous bag from Veronica Beard. I was gifted the beaded necklace from a brand called Noonday. They have some really great pieces that won’t break the bank.

This look features a great pair of jeans from Pistola that I ordered and love! They’re a looser fit, high-waisted and have such a great wash. I also ordered the sneakers and they are seriously some of the most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever worn and…the chocolate brown is so good.

I styled them with a striped blouse from Anthropologie that almost sold out between last night and this morning, so I linked a similar option as well. I love the little yellow clutch from Liffner with the brown…I love an unexpected color combination. A simple gold necklace is the perfect finishing touch.

I found this Gap denim jacket and couldn’t believe the price! It’s such a versatile piece and will go with everything. I styled it with a colorful cropped sweater that I’m absolutely in love with and the viral cargo pants from La Ligne. These are some of the best-fitting pants ever and I love the shape.

I ordered the Mary Janes in the brown suede…they haven’t arrived yet, but Boden shoes usually fit me well, so I have high hopes! The blue bag is a pretty pop of color that makes the whole outfit a little more interesting.

I’ve been wearing and loving this brown dress from Dôen (last seen here) for a few weeks now, and since it’s such a great color going into fall, I decided to style it with a denim jacket (more affordable here) for an extra layer. I added a pair of brown croc embossed sandals, but booties or a Mary Jane flat would be so good once the weather turns cooler…which I don’t think will be anytime soon here! The brocade bag from Veronica Beard is perfection, and how cute is the heart necklace from Jenny Bird?!

I think the fun part of September style is mixing what we’re still wearing with a few things we’re excited to wear next. There’s no reason to rush the season, but there’s also nothing wrong with having a little fun planning for it!
