Happy Monday and last day of August! Summer is winding down and I’m a little sad about that. This was a weird summer for us, but the past two weeks at the beach were an ideal way to bring the season to a close. Now, I’m ready to jump back into life at home, get started with the demolition of our tree-smashed room and finally begin thinking about the renovation. I’m also ready for some fall outfit styling!
In the meantime, I’m still blogging, writing for Substack (read my latest post) and posting on social media, so as you can imagine…I’m very busy! And being busy means I need to be organized, but it also means I need a few easy outfits in my back pocket for those days when I don’t have a lot of time to think about what to wear.
Today, I’m sharing two of those looks. They’re easy to put together, comfortable enough for running around all day and still look like I put a little thought into getting dressed.
If you can ignore the goofy pictures of me, these outfits are pretty fabulous everyday, errand-running, busy-day, no-time-to-think-about-it looks…which is basically every day for me right now! It’s still pretty hot here and I know it will be for a while, but I’m ready to start transitioning my wardrobe for a bit of fall outfit styling…or at least look like I’m putting in the effort.
As I was unpacking my bags from the beach this morning, I did a little rearranging in my closet and pulled out two pieces that I’m so glad I purchased in the spring because they’re just as good right now. Apparently you loved them too because both ended up being two of my best selling pieces!
I’ve loved these green and white gingham silk taffeta pants from DONNI (first photo below). from the minute I bought them—and really, I love all of their pants. They’re one of those pieces that look special but are surprisingly easy to wear. I can throw them on with a simple knit top and flats for a casual day, or change the shoes and add a dressier top and they’re completely different. I love clothes that can do both.
The cute yellow cardigan in the second photo was one of my most-worn pieces last spring when the weather was still cool but I was ready for my clothes to feel a little lighter and brighter. And that’s the beauty of a piece like this. I wore it to transition from winter into spring, and now I’m pulling it out again to take me from summer into fall. That’s exactly the kind of piece I want in my closet—something I love enough to keep reaching for season after season. I styled the cardigan with my favorite tank, a bag from Call It By Your Name, and favorite new sneakers along with a beaded necklace I’m wearing in both pictures!

I’ll be getting started tomorrow styling all the new things that came while I was at the beach (so many good things) and I’m excited to begin to share them here on Crazy Blonde Life! As for now, I have a much needed nail appointment and a trip to the grocery store on the agenda and then it’s right back at it! I hope you’re all having a lovely day!
