I’ve been a little MIA for the past couple of days, which is very unusual for me, but life has been a bit full to say the least. With the added responsibility of getting estimates for the work on the house, catching up with the loads of things that were sent to me while I was gone, and simply unpacking, grocery shopping and getting life back in order after two weeks away, it’s been a lot. There are only so many hours in a day, and lately I’ve been burning the candle at both ends.

And…add to all of that, yesterday I decided to go to Spain in two weeks! I’m so excited about this trip, although I know there will probably be hell to pay when I get home. But as my mom always used to say, the laundry will be waiting for you. So I’m taking her advice and going on an adventure with my friend Julie Miles. I absolutely cannot wait to get there, see the sights, eat the food and meet some new friends! It seems that just as I was getting back into a routine, I’m leaving again. But sometimes you just have to drop everything and go!

One trend I’m seeing that’s everywhere for fall is fringe…and I’m here for it. Fringe showed up throughout the Fall 2026 collections, sometimes in a dramatic way and sometimes as a small detail to add movement and texture. Vogue highlighted fringe on the Fall 2026 runways, while Harper’s Bazaar pointed to the most interesting designers (Alaïa, Celene, Prada) using it this season. I love it because it has that slightly bohemian, slightly Western feeling, but when done right, it’s fabulous and doesn’t look like a costume. The top (very affordable and a great find) I’m wearing is a perfect example. The scarf-inspired print and fringe make it interesting enough to carry the whole outfit, so I kept everything else pretty simple with great dark wash trouserjeans, suede boots and a big brown suede bag. It feels very fall but you can still wear it now…which is exactly the kind of piece I’m looking for!

Fringe is one of those trends that adds just enough personality to an outfit without requiring much else. Whether it’s a little detail on a bag or a top that makes the whole look, I’m definitely making room for it in my fall wardrobe.
