Welcome to my Weekend Lifestyle Roundup! It’s been quite a week as they all are…very busy but I’m leaving for Bald Head Island on Sunday and looking forward to a few days alone and then my youngest daughter and her family and Baldy arrive. I’ll have time to get some grocery shopping done, take a few long walks on the beach and hopefully get some reading done!
I started The Story of Marceau Miller and it’s sooo good…really suspenseful and I’m only on the third chapter. I can’t wait to see what happens! I’m also reading The Untethered Soul and it’s so fascinating…definitely worth a read!
It’s going to be so hot on the island and I’m sure the humidity is a million percent, but that’s kind of to be expected in July! I’m planning to wear my hair curly and really give it a break while I’m there so I’ve ordered this wave spray from Ouai and I’m hoping it’ll be just what I need to encourage my curls and keep the frizz away! I’ll keep you posted!
I’ve been thinking about meals once everyone gets there and I definitely know I’ll be making my fabulous crab cakes because everyone loves them and I’m taking a jar of homemade pesto along as well. Those are two easy meals that will be delicious after a day at the beach or pool. I’m also taking along a few tins of fish from Fishwife! If you haven’t tried this tinned fish, you are really missing out! It’s a great addition to a charcuterie board served with dill, radishes, capers and really anything you like! My favorite so far is the smoked salmon, but this time I’m also trying the tuna in spicy olive oil! There is no doubt it will be amazing! I pulled a picture from Pinterest to show you how pretty a tinned fish board can be. I’ll definitely post a picture of mine soon!
Also taking along some new skincare from Juice Beauty to try while I’m there. I’m excited to try the Prebiotix SPF 45 Glow Daily Multitask Moisturizer. I’ve had so many skin cancers lately that I’m trying to be very careful in the sun. I also love this sunscreen from Oak Essentials that I’ll use on my body. This sunscreen is lightly scented, has SPF 30 and is on sale right now! The whole Oak Essentials site is 20% off. As soon as I get home, I have a dermatologist appointment to get a small skin cancer scraped off! I guess I’m paying for all those years I spent in the sun!
Each week, I start a weekly favorites post in ShopMy and add to it all week long. The collage above has just a few of the items I added to that post. I gave my grandsons the Camp Snap camera to take on their vacation and they’re excited…it comes in lots of fun colors and is very kid friendly. I also am very obsessed with the green dress…the color is so pretty and it would be perfect with the transparent strap wedges.

I have decided to binge watch Five Star Weekend while I’m at the beach. Several people have recommended it and it sounds like something I would enjoy. I’m a Jennifer Garner fan and I hear she’s great in this so that’s another thing I’ll let you know about!
Two Affordable Swim Looks
So…I created these collages and then had the idea to see if AI could make pictures of a real looking person sitting by a pool wearing these items and this is what I got. Actually, my jaw dropped when I saw them. I think it’s helpful to be able to see the actual items styled on a person. Let me know what you think…I have mixed feelings about AI but this was a fun experiment!
