The Best Crab Cakes You’ll Ever Eat (With Pesto Mayonnaise)

01

I’m resharing my recipe for Crab Cakes today because they are a perfect appetizer/hors d’oeuvre for any season. They’re so easy to make and everyone loves them! My son-in-law says they’re the best ones he’s ever had and I agree…they really are pretty delicious if I do say so myself! I came up with the recipe by taking my moms recipe for salmon cakes and substituting crab meat. Everyone always loved her salmon cakes and I love the simplicity of the recipe…very few ingredients so the crabmeat is the star of the show! I’ve perfected this recipe and now, I’m sharing it with you! Keep scrolling…

    Hi Suzanne,
The crab cake recipe sounds delicious. Do you think it would work using imitation crab, since my husband is allergic to all shell fish?
Thank you for the pictures of your inspirational outfits, shopping suggestions and fun adventures.
    Have a Very Merry Christmas!

Tricia, they won’t be the same as using real crabmeat but I would certainly give it a try!

      Hi Tricia

To answer your question honestly, I’m not sure. You could use salmon (canned or fresh) to make thes though. I took my mom’s recipe for what she called salmon patties and substituted fresh crabmeat so I know the canned salmon works (if you use fresh, cook it first or use leftover).. Salmon Patties are an old Southern recipe and we always loved them when I was growing up…they don’t sound great but these little patties are delicious!
I’m so sorry to just be seeing your comment but I hope this helps. I appreciate your support and I’m so glad that you’re enjoying the blog! Happy New Year!
