It is hot, hot, HOT here in North Carolina, and I’m convinced the humidity is hovering somewhere around 700%! Yesterday I spent the day photographing new outfits with my photographer, and these photos were among the very last ones we took. By then I was definitely feeling a little wilted, but we pushed through…and I’m so glad we did because these Rag and Bone Miramar shorts turned out to be one of my favorite discoveries of the season.

The shorts are the Rag & Bone Miramar shorts and are part of their viral rb Miramar collection, which you may remember from the jeans everyone was talking about this winter. Using their signature trompe l’oeil printing technology, they look just like denim but are actually made from an incredibly soft cotton terry fabric. They feature a comfortable pull-on elastic waistband, hidden side-seam pockets, a flattering 4-inch inseam, and even printed denim details that make them look surprisingly authentic.

This is exactly the kind of outfit I find myself reaching for all summer long. When it’s this hot outside, the last thing I want is to overthink getting dressed. A great pair of shorts, a simple white tank, beautiful jewelry, and a favorite pair of sandals are really all you need. It’s comfortable enough to wear all day, yet polished enough for lunch, errands, or meeting friends.

What I especially love about this look is how the accessories transform such a simple foundation. The layered turquoise and pearl necklaces add color and personality, while my Gucci sandals bring just the right touch of luxury.
