Styling Pants That Aren’t Jeans

01

I usually reach for jeans without thinking about it, but there are so many other options out there right now so I’ve been trying to mix it up a bit and wear pants that aren’t jeans. I’ve been pulling out camo, satin, soft brushed cotton, and drawstring pants that feel like pajamas but don’t look like it. These options are as easy to style as jeans and feel very current and interesting. Style them the same way you’d style your favorite jeans, with a good tank, a white button-down, or a sweater along with shoes that pull a color out of nowhere. I’ve included lots of sandals and ballet flats in the collages below so you can switch out the shoes when the weather gets cooler…honestly, I’ve never seen so many great shoe options as I’m seeing this season.

I spent quite a while coming up with these items and everything (almost) I’m wanting for casual fall style is in the eight looks below!

I absolutely love the combination of purple and yellow…it’s unexpected and it works. The purple sweater thrown over your shoulders gives a fall feel without adding too much weight and it also looks amazing with tan.

This look is a nod to the western trend without going all in. Wear this cute top with cream trousers and booties for a dressier look.

These are classic fall colors in unexpected textures…the pants are moleskin and so fabulous and you’ll wear leopard shoes with everything (less expensive here). The color comes from the lip!

These spotty yellow flats will be your go-to this fall! They are in my cart and I’m pulling the trigger today…combined with the yellow bag, they are the perfect thing with brown pants!

I love the camo and denim top combination and the red sandals and bag make the whole look so interesting and unexpected!

Chartreuse has been calling my name since last fall and I’m so glad it’s still trending for 2026! Keep it simple and let the fabulous pants shine by adding a black sandal and cream blouse!

Sheer fabrics are trending and so pretty…wear with a darker bra or tank underneath. Black and tan accessories with a cream satin pant keep this look casual but still dressier enough for dinner out! Go ahead and pull out your suede bags…it gives a hint of fall without adding a layer!

Honestly, this could be my uniform all winter long! The little red flats from Boden are affordable, come in lots of colors and are just adorable! I own the brown leather bag from Freja and it’s just amazing…roomy enough for all my necessities and goes with everything!

I’m including a boutique below with everything from this post…

Of course I’m still going to be wearing jeans this fall, but I like that there are so many other casual and easy to wear options as well. I’m dizzy from all of the fabulous options that I’ve seen while putting these collages together…it’s all so good and I had a hard time restraining myself. I did purchase the purple sandals from Reformation as well as a pair of their Olina cropped pants. I love the pop of color that these pieces add. Traditional fall colors are so rich and yummy and pair well with other deep, saturated colors like purple and chartreuse and gold. Adding a unexpected shoe, or bag is sometimes all it takes to take an outfit from good to WOW! It’s going to be colorful fall!

Thanks so much for reading today!
