Yesterday was a glorious day! The sky was bright blue, the temperatures were in the high 70s and the daffodils were putting on a show! I decided it would be the perfect day to wear my new jacket from Veronica Beard!
The moment I saw this jacket, I knew I had to have it…I love the soft yellow color and the removable embellished collar makes it really special! I styled it simply with flare jeans, a long sleeve white tee, olive green sunglasses and my Gucci loafers that I’ve worn with everything since I got them!
This jacket is tailored from 100% cotton and is the perfect transitional coat, with an added touch of glamour. It features a relaxed, boxy fit with oversized flap pockets. The detachable collar is covered in dazzling rhinestones and perfect for elevating the everyday. This style is cut for an oversized fit so size down for a more fitted look.

Yesterday, a longtime blog reader left a comment and wondered why “everything is now from Amazon?”. This comment really made me so sad because I have tried very very hard to balance the Amazon posts with other “non Amazon” posts by doing two blog posts almost every day! This has been very time consuming but it’s important to me that I have that balance.
Because of our renovation and the extra time I’ve been spending managing it, and the noise and inconvenience having crews of men in the house working bring, I haven’t been able to get in the kitchen and cook as much as I would like. We all have seasons in life and do what we can at the time.
I also now have five grandchildren, 3 of which live in different states and I travel to see them as often as possible. Life is busy and unfortunately, the cooking has had to take a back seat for now. I will get back in the kitchen soon!
Over the years, I have had many requests for less expensive fashion items and Amazon has been the solution to those requests, although I have linked items from Mango (and here) and H&M as well.
Recently, I even had someone ask for a look for less with the example being a collage that I had created with Veronica Beard pieces. She loved the look but wanted similar items that were less expensive! I was able to make a “look for less” collage for her and was really happy that I could provide that.
In my own wardrobe, I have a great mix of high and low items…some designer pieces that I treasure and some Amazon pieces that I wear right alongside the designer pieces. For example, the earrings, sunglasses and tee that I’m wearing in the pictures above are from Amazon while the jacket is from Veronica Beard. I have been pleasantly surprised at the things I’ve been able to find on Amazon and as I’m creating the collages, often times, I’m also shopping.
I do believe it’s important to support small local businesses (especially woman owned) that create one-of-a-kind artisanal pieces and in my own life, I do that as often as possible…with food, fashion and items for our home. I support a local clothing boutique in the neighboring town of Greensboro, I have original art hanging in our home and I try to shop for food at farmer’s markets and with local farmers as time allows. And…you may not be aware that there are many small businesses that sell on Amazon.
In recent posts, I’ve included collages that featured items from Neiman Marcus, Veronica Beard and other designers with a “look for less” collage in the same post (and in this post) so that I could give options. I’ve also featured brands such as Spartina 449, Avara and The Office of Angela Scott. I’ve even managed to post three new recipes (here, here and here).
When my emails go out to blog subscribers each day, there are usually two blog posts linked in each email and I’m wondering if some people are missing the second post and only seeing the one at the top?
I would love to know how you’re feeling about the posts and if you’re seeing each one. If you’ve been missing some of the posts, you can see them all by going to the home page.
Please chime in and let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment. I couldn’t continue to write this blog without the people who read each day and it’s really important to me that I’m providing posts that you like and want to read! I’ve had so much good feed back about the “looks for less”, and that’s why I’ve continued to do them.
Having said all of that…this may be the only post for today because my oldest daughter’s birthday is today and we’re going to lunch and to do a little shopping!
Thanks so much for reading all of this and please let me know your thoughts!
Below, find a boutique with more fabulous items from Veronica Beard along with some really great shoes!
Thanks so much for reading today!

Suzanne,
First, let me say that I sympathize with you, we are coming up on 1 year since a tree fell on our house. It has been a long road of renovation. It is very stressful to live in a house and work, take care of your family, dogs, etc with people coming in and out.
Second, blogging is an expensive job, there are lots of behind the scenes expenses people don’t know about. Not to mention that there are people who follow from all demographics. Some people like designer, some like up cycled, some like "look for less" some local shops, most blogs off er something for everyone. And I think you do an AMAZING job of doing all of the above.
We do not all have to like the same things or shop at the same places, if something is posted is not "your thing" that’s ok.
Please do not let this comment get you down, you work hard to create a beautiful home, life, blog and content.
Always Love to read your blogs everyday. Please do not stop sharing the Amazon links. I would like to be able to afford the higher end clothes, but not realistic for me. So happy when I can order something that you have ordered and liked. Makes my day!!! I have ordered quote a few things. Please keep up the good work. We appreciate it!
Hi Jeanni
I’m sooooo happy that you’re enjoying the blog! I work hard to make sure there is something for everyone! There are great items on Amazon and it’s fun for me to come up with "looks for less". I love to mix up my style combining Amazon pieces with designer pieces! Your comment means the world to me! Thank you!
I think that’s funny about Amazon. I look at your blog all the time and when I like something a lot it is usually Veronica Beard or something really expensive!!! lol. You should show Amazon. they do have a lot of nice items. I must confess that I cannot wear most of what you show because I am plus size. You showed a beautiful orange floral sweater that I just loved! And your bags are always so interesting. I enjoy looking at how you style your outfits. I watched some of your videos thinking how nice you look, so well put together. I enjoy most all of the blog. I don’t look too much at dresses because I never wear dresses. I cannot wear heels at my age (in my 70s) so I think dresses look odd with flats. Just my opinion. I will continue to read your blog and enjoy it1
Hi Linda
I so appreciate your comment! Part of what I love so much about Amazon is the challenge of recreating an outfit that I’ve seen elsewhere with less expensive items and that’s what I hope everyone that reads Crazy Blonde Life will do as well! You don’t have to shop on Amazon or anywhere else to be inspired by a look! Sometimes, it can just be a color palette that is inspiring!
I’m do hope you’ll continue to read the blog…I’ll have more recipes coming soon! It’s just been so hard to get it all done with this renovation, but…it must end at some point and I’ll be back in the kitchen!
Suzanne, Your efforts to show elevated looks along with more affordable options that are carefully curated makes your posts something I look forward to everday! Even if I can’t afford many of the designer looks I can still find inspiration regarding trends and styling that I use when "shopping my closet". You have a special knack for putting things together in a beautiful yet approachable way. Do not change what you’re doing; your approach is authentic and appreciated! xo
Hi Kelly
Such a sweet comment that means the world to me! I really do try to find something for everyone and I’m so happy you’re enjoying the posts!
Hi Suzanne,
You always do an amazing job showing beauty in your home and life, and clothing. I have been surprised at how often you posted Amazon finds lately, but because I will not support Amazon anymore, I just scroll through to enjoy the other content in your post. I may not be able to afford it, but it’s fun to look at!
Can’t wait to see your finished remodel.
Xo Heidi
Hi Suzanne,
I enjoy all of your posts. Your recipes are in regular circulation in my kitchen and I have read some amazing books from your recommendations.
Similar to Heidi’s post below, I will no longer support Amazon. I also avoid Target, Walmart and Nestle products. My choices do not change how much I enjoy your style and all that you do. Keep it coming!
Hi Deidre
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I totally respect your choices and understand. I am working on a Substack post that will also go on Crazy Blonde Life to address the many comments I’ve had about Amazon.
I’m happy to know that you’re enjoying Crazy Blonde Life and I will continue to try to post something for everyone!
