This pink striped set from Benaar LA is the easiest summer outfit I’ve worn all season. I love it for so many reasons. It’s separates, so I can wear the pieces together, or pair the skirt with a white short sleeve tee for something more casual, or wear the top with white jeans. It has a casual feel but it’s still dressy enough for a baby shower or brunch. The button detail on the collar is so unexpected, and the bell sleeves are gorgeous! I love the uneven hem and the flowy feel of the skirt… it’s interesting. And did you notice the pockets on the back? Soooo cute and very affordable (under $300)!

When I put it on for the first time, I immediately started thinking about where I’d wear it, because a set this good shouldn’t sit in the closet waiting for just one occasion. A garden party is the obvious answer, but the list is endless… a long brunch, a bridal or baby shower, an afternoon on the porch with friends and a bottle of rosé. Add flat sandals… I chose gold, but leather or white would work too, and heels would make it a bit dressier. Great jewelry and a great bag are all you need. The set is statement enough.

Cut some hydrangeas…I like to arrange them in a ginger jar, pour something cold…rose anyone, and enjoy the day. You don’t need an event to feel beautiful. Sometimes the occasion is just a nice afternoon and the decision to dress for it.

You really don’t need to wait for an occasion to get dressed. You can decide that an ordinary afternoon is enough. So much of my life is spent right here at home, on my porch. I usually have fresh flowers because I’ve decided they make me happy. I love inviting my girlfriends over, but sometimes my pups and a good book are all I need. Let your life be the occasion.
