Five Outfits for Wherever the Day Takes You

01

I’ve always thought the fun part isn’t buying the clothes…it’s imagining where you’ll wear them. A great jacket makes me think of dinner downtown, an easy blouse belongs at the farmers market, and crisp white denim is practically made for a summer picnic. Today I’m sharing five everyday outfits from Chico’s styled for five different occasions, mixing their pieces with a few longtime favorites from my own closet. I hope you’ll find an idea—or two—that inspires your next outing.

Casual Dinner Out

One of the questions I’m asked most often is how to make jeans feel a little more special. My answer is almost always the same…add one interesting piece.

This embroidered jacket does all the work. The beadwork is beautiful, the silhouette is classic, and paired with my own front-slit jeans and tortoise clutch, it instantly feels ready for dinner. I love outfits like this because they’re comfortable enough to actually enjoy the evening, yet polished enough that you feel like you made an effort.

Everyday Errands

Some days don’t require a special occasion at all. They’re for running errands, wandering through antique stores, stopping by the farmers market, or meeting a friend for lunch. Those are the days I probably enjoy dressing for the most.

These olive pants have such a relaxed feel, and paired with this printed blouse and woven tote, the whole outfit feels effortless. The bag is one of my favorite pieces from Chico’s because it’s large enough to actually use, which is something I always appreciate. It’s casual, comfortable, and still looks pulled together…exactly the kind of outfit I want to wear on an ordinary Tuesday.

Picnic in the Park

Some of my favorite memories happen when nothing elaborate is planned. Pack a basket, grab a blanket, and spend an afternoon outside. It doesn’t have to be a formal picnic—it could just as easily be sandwiches from your favorite deli and a good book.

I added my own lightweight blue sweater (similar) over my shoulders because I always like having another layer nearby, especially if we’re staying until evening. The white cropped jeans with the scalloped detail are such a fun summer piece, and paired with the raffia heels they feel fresh, relaxed, and ready for a beautiful afternoon.

Work Day

I’ve always believed that looking polished helps me think more clearly. Maybe it’s psychological, but when I take a few extra minutes getting dressed, I feel more prepared to tackle whatever is on my calendar.

This linen utility jacket immediately caught my eye because it’s structured without feeling stiff. I paired it with my own white jeans and added turquoise jewelry to warm up the neutral palette. It’s the kind of outfit that works whether you’re heading into the office, meeting a client for lunch, or spending the day working from your favorite coffee shop with your laptop.

Date Night

Date night doesn’t have to mean getting dressed up for someone else. I think it should be about reminding yourself that ordinary evenings deserve a little effort too. Whether it’s dinner at your favorite neighborhood restaurant, a concert, or simply a glass of wine on the patio after work, putting on something beautiful changes the mood.

I paired this gorgeous lace jacket with my own favorite jeans and black tank because I wanted the jacket to be the star. It has just enough drama without trying too hard, and I love that it feels equally at home with denim as it would over a simple black dress. Those are the pieces I always reach for…the ones that earn their place in my closet by working harder than expected.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that beautiful style isn’t about having somewhere extraordinary to go. It’s about bringing a little more intention to the life you’re already living. A lunch with friends, an afternoon in the park, dinner with your husband, or even a day at work can all feel a little more special when you enjoy what you’re wearing. That’s why I like sharing these affordable pieces from Chico’s mixed with items I’ve owned for years. Building a wardrobe isn’t about replacing everything every season—it’s about collecting pieces that help you enjoy your everyday life just a little bit more.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! Happy Friday!

~XOXO Suzanne
