A Colorful Escape

01

Summer is the perfect excuse to embrace color. When I’m packing for a trip or even just dressing for a weekend close to home…I love choosing a color palette and letting everything revolve around it. Coral, turquoise, leafy green, and sunny orange instantly transport me somewhere warm, and the best part is that everything mixes and matches effortlessly. A suitcase filled with pieces that work together makes getting dressed so much easier, leaving more time to enjoy the little moments that make summer feel magical. This cheerful collection is a reminder that sometimes all it takes is a little color to change your mood and make every day feel like a getaway. Keep scrolling for a little summer style inspiration!

Whether you’re headed to the coast, exploring a new city, or simply bringing a little vacation spirit to everyday life, dressing with intention makes the season even more enjoyable. I hope this colorful edit inspires you to step outside your usual palette, have a little fun, and create a wardrobe that feels as joyful as summer itself. After all, the best summer style isn’t about following trends…it’s about wearing what makes you smile.

Before you go, I’d love to ask a little favor. One of my favorite parts of writing this newsletter is hearing from you, and lately I’ve noticed our conversations have gotten a little quieter. If today’s colorful escape inspired you, I’d love for you to say hello. Tell me your favorite summer color, whether you pack around a color palette, or which piece from today’s collection you’d love to add to your suitcase. I read every single comment, and they truly make this feel like a conversation among friends.

Thanks so much for reading today!

~XOXO Suzanne

Good morning- you asked, I shall deliver a comment. I am in my later 50’s and I love color. I am a believer of more is more and although I am not completely comfortable or happy with my “older” body, I dress for me. I have been really enjoying your posts Suzanne, and side note- you have quoted from a book by Brianna Wiest in the past. I have purchased that book, read through twice and given as gifts!

Hi Jenn! Thank you so much for your comment! I completely agree with you on everything! I love color as you know and I’m also not completely comfortable in my older body. I feel gravity taking over, but still love to get dressed and it bothers me less and less. I’m so glad you’re enjoying the posts and also, that you love that Brianna Wiest book! It’s a good one! Thank you so very much for your comment!

Hello Suzanne! I love color! But I tend to wear neutrals with one pop of color. Not sure why I am not more courageous to wear more because I am certainly drawn to it. Could be my age is stopping me (72)?

    • Suzanne Smith says:

Hi Hariett! I think a pop of color is a great place to start! Maybe you could begin to add a bit more a little at a time if you want? I always love to see your comments! Thank you so much for reading!
