My goal here on Crazy Blonde Life is to be authentic. I’m honest about who I am and what I believe and If you like me that’s fantastic, and if you don’t, that’s fine too. You can never please everyone! As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that we don’t all have to agree, but I do believe it’s important to be exactly who I am in a nice way. Crazy Blonde Life has evolved over the past year and become a place for me to share my thoughts about life and the lessons I’ve learned going down this path. My ideas are part of me and I can’t pretend to be a person who has no opinions, just to please everyone. I would hope that my honesty is something that gives me credibility or at the very least a trust factor. I’m not going to pretend to like something just to sell it and I’m not going to pretend to be someone I’m not, just to get people to follow. I will to continue to share my honest journey and, at times, that might include an opinion that some don’t agree with. That’s ok because this world would be a very boring place if we were all the same. It won’t hurt my feelings if anyone stops reading this blog because Life is to short to worry about what everyone else thinks. I would rather stand up for what I believe.
I posted on Instagram today…because every time I turn on the radio, or watch television, I’m really upset by the cries of children being torn away from their parents on the Mexican border. It wasn’t a political post. I just think the policy is inhumane and I think the First Lady’s choice of fashion was absurd…she could have worn anything. I would think the same thing no matter what my party affiliation. I’m a mother and I cannot imagine how I would feel to have my child torn from my arms. Yes, I do have my opinions about immigration, but I wasn’t posting about that. I have never claimed to be a Trump supporter, so nothing new there. I had so many comments on the post, but several comments suggested that I’m not allowed to have an opinion! What??? One person even said that she enjoyed my blog, but why did I have to go there (meaning be political) and she said “bye bye” as if I was worried that she wouldn’t follow me any more. It’s totally her choice, obviously.
We are a global society and what affects one child affects us all. Children are innocent when they’re born and their lives are shaped by circumstances. It has been proven that what is best for a child (with exceptions of abuse) is to stay with their families. The world can be a cruel place…and, like I’ve said before…HURT PEOPLE, HURT PEOPLE. These children are being deeply hurt and are therefore being taught that it’s ok to hurt others, but it is not. I don’t claim to have all the answers but I believe with all my heart that tearing families apart is not the answer. I believe you get back from the world what you put into it. Let’s bring light and love into the world and not create more fear and hate. There’s enough of that already.
I especially love to talk about fashion on Crazy Blonde Life, because I think a great outfit makes you feel good and helps you to put your best foot forward. I also really enjoy a nice meal with a fabulous glass of wine in a beautifully decorated space. All of those things, plus more workouts and reflections on life…will continue to the focus of this blog. It’s about lifestyle and life, and sometimes, life gets a little messy. I don’t want to pretend that this space is a little bubble where nothing hard ever happens because clearly it isn’t.
I hope you all have a great Sunday. Spending sweet time with my family today as everyone starts to get here for my dad’s funeral service on Thursday. Thank you so much to everyone who sent me loving words. I consider so many of you dear friends, even though we’ve never actually met. I’m blessed in so many ways and it deeply hurts me to see others suffer. Please don’t leave me comments about your views on immigration. This post is not about that…it’s simply about my heartbreak over these poor children and my honesty in sharing. We should all care!
Love Love Love your post.Thank You Susan

Dearest Suzanne,
I am just now hearing about the loss of your sweet Daddy, and I am so, so sorry for your loss. Don was such a fine man who loved his family and will be greatly missed! Please extend my deepest sympathy to Fran and to Catherine.
Your post this morning is lovely, just like you! I am so proud of you and your ability to bring “light and love” into the lives of others through your beautiful blogs! Often, life DOES throw us a curve ball, but as strong women with strong faith, we adapt and meet those challenges head on! As a result of my crazy busy life, I often don’t have time to check my email, Facebook, or your blog —- only because I run out of hours in the day! But, keep writing and sharing your many talents with others!
Use what you have wisely and remember that….
“What we are is God’s gift to us; what we become is our gift to God.” Sending you lots of love & hugs!
Thank you so much for you sweet comment Linda. I miss seeing you!
Suzanne, ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Love to you Heidi!
Well said…love and light to you
Thank you Kate. Love and light to you as well.
Thank you for expressing your thoughts and I am very sorry about your father. Life should be about support and compassion so you have mine as you go through this time
Thank you Jill…your comment means so much to me, especially right now.
I ditto "Jill" and will add that you have much love and support from subscribers like me who "get" you and read from you exactly what you’re trying to convey – which IS all light and bright! Shine on my dear and loving thoughts to you and your family at this time. XO
Thank you Jill…I so appreciate your love and support and I really appreciate that you took the time to comment. Sweet comments like this help me to keep going when things are difficult.
Suzanne – thanks so much for letting us into your life and inspiring us. As for the post about the border crisis, haters gonna hate – let them go, and good riddance. I think many more of us care than don’t- I just wish we had more influence. And the jacket was inexcusable – enough said.
You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your dad. This is a hard milestone most of us have to pass. I know you feel fortunate to have had him for so many years. I also know you will honor him by looking FABULOUS at the funeral!
Best wishes from a new reader,
Mary Katherine
Well you know I agree…she had to have known what a stink that jacket would cause, but go figure. I would get the one designed by Zac Posen (and wear it proudly) if I could afford it!
Thank you so much for your sweet words about my dad. Even when a death is expected it is still hard. You are so very kind and I’m beyond thrilled you found my blog!
Stand for something. Thanks Suzanne. I do not have children, but you do not have to be a mother to not have you heart ripped out by these images. Nancy H.
Thank you Nancy…I know at this point in my life how important it is to stand up for the things I believe in! We are at a very unusual time in history, but hopefully learning some important lessons as a country from everything that’s going on. Breaking families apart because of an unfounded fear is never the answer. Thanks for your comment!
First of all, I am so sorry for your loss. It is difficult to lose a parent even if they have lived a good long life. My prayers are with you and your family. In terms of your post, everyone is indeed entitled to their opinion. Keep on being you. I believe that women talking to women with civility even when we disagree is what is needed to bring people together in this country. I am a Trump supporter, not supporting him as a man per se but for the most part agreeing with many of the policies and changes he is working for as President. For example, it benefits all of us including the wonderful immigrants who come here legally to have a strong country and border. As far as the first lady’s choice of wearing that jacket, I have no idea why she would do that! She certainly did not represent me and it was a poor choice. Additionally, the practice of separating children from parents is not something I agree with. The law, however, needs to changed to be consistent and encourage people to use the process set up for legal immigration. This needs to be done in a strong yet compassionate way. I know you didn’t want people to post their views on immigration here but you brought the topic up! And, you have every right to. My best to you. I enjoy your blog.
Hello, This is the first blog of yours that I have read and bravo to you. I’m Canadian and it has been a nightmare watching the news every night wondering what shoe will fall next. Taking children from there parents is so wrong on every possible level. How is it possible to justify doing this? I also wonder why some people think they are superior to others. Aren’t we all created equal? I, too, write a blog (Apres C C on Whyte) and have hesitated to go political but if we say nothing are we not saying it’s OK? I will be following your blog based on this post alone. Thank you for sharing your voice.
