August is a weird month for fashion. It’s still hot in most places in the States, but fall clothes are everywhere, Halloween is in all the stores and, oddly, summer is still in full swing. By the time fall actually rolls around, we’ve already been in fall mode for a couple of months.

I am definitely ready for a few cool, crisp fall feeling days, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that it has been sooo terribly hot and humid. It rains almost every night, our power has gone out way too often because of storms, and, as you know, we had a tree fall on our house. I keep saying – even though we live in North Carolina, it feels more like we live in a rainforest. Fall weather seems to come later every year…it stays warm well into October and even November.

I remember when Halloween actually felt like fall. When I was a child, we always wore coats to trick-or-treat or we wore layers under our costume. It was chilly out and when my girls were younger, I always made a big pot of chili so everyone could warm up when we got home!

I am craving some of that weather so much this year. I don’t ever remember wanting cooler days this badly.

With this in mind, I’m sharing a gorgeous fall collage today that has a definite boho feel. The colors are rich and yummy…dark florals, rich greens and reds and the individual pieces are stunning. There are several things I want to purchase and wear sooner rather than later.

Putting this collage together actually made me even more excited for the season ahead…even if the weather isn’t quite there yet. That’s part of the fun of fall fashion…finding the pieces you love now and looking forward to finally having the perfect day to wear them.

Five Wearable Trends for Fall 2026

Lace-Trimmed Layers – Let a little lace peek out from under a sweater, jacket or cardigan.

Suede Jackets – Especially relaxed, slightly oversized styles in brown or cognac. Wear with jeans and a simple tee.

Statement Belts – Add a wider leather belt or interesting buckle over jeans, dresses or even a blazer.

Romantic Boho Blouses – Look for pintucks, ruffles, embroidery or fuller sleeves and pair with bootcut or slim-flare jeans for a modern ’70s feel.

Long Pendant NecklacesLong pendant necklaces are coming back (not sure they ever left) and instantly give a simple sweater, blouse or dress a more current look.

Trends are always more fun when they’re actually wearable, and these pieces are easy ways to make your fall wardrobe feel current without starting over. I especially love the ’70s influence this year because it feels familiar, but a bit more polished! Now, if the weather would just cooperate…

Thanks so much for reading today!
