When you describe the paper bag pant – all bunched up at the waist with a loose fitting leg — it doesn’t sound all that flattering. Maybe they should be called something else, however, I think the right pants can be flattering If you choose a style that’s smartly tailored in a quality fabric. I’m very short waisted and when I put these pants on, I worried that they were too high, but decided I liked them. My daughter mentioned that maybe I looked a little like Steve Urkle (I didn’t take it as a compliment). I think they work because the top is very fitted and the vertical stripes make me look longer.
