I love vintage finds of every kind from beautiful champagne glasses to furniture to cozy fur coats! Unfortunately, in the town I live in, the options for vintage shopping are few and far between, but I have found a few special things and the fur I’m wearing here is one of them (similar here). I’ve worn it in different ways, but this is the most casual. It adds just a touch of warmth to my outfit and a whole lot of personality!
For fashionistas who love both animals and wearing fur, going vintage is a good solution. Old furs don’t contribute to the profits of modern fur farms, and usually they support small and local vintage shops. Fur stoles from the 50’s and 60’s have a luxurious, decadent glamor and can be worn in endless ways…they also are a fraction of the cost of even some faux furs these days!
I styled my fur “stole” with grey jeans, sparkly Gucci boots, a black turtleneck and a denim jacket! My fabulous boots are from 2 seasons ago, but I did find a pair of gently used ones in a size 9….linked below if you’re interested!

I inherited my mother’s vintage raccoon coat after she passed away. As an animal lover I was worried about the message it would send if I wore it. I spoke to many friends and even an image consultant and got the green light that going vintage was ok. And also, a rabid raccoon climbed under our boat cover this summer and destroyed every bit of upholstery…so now I plan on donning that coat this winter without a second of hesitation! 😂 I also just purchased an amazing rabbit fur vest from the 70s and can’t wait to style it!

I feel the same way…I think it’s ok because they’ve been previously owned and sold again by small businesses! Vintage furs often have such great style and are really fun to wear!
We had a raccoon get into our beach house several years ago and it did so much damage…I say wear away!
