We’re entering the season of sparkle, although this year, embellishment seems to be everywhere. There are no rules about when to wear sequins, embroidery and beading, so the sky’s the limit! But if you’d rather save your sequined skirt for something other than lunch on a Tuesday, you can certainly start planning your holiday sparkle.
This skirt from Tanya Taylor is, in my opinion, one of those pieces that will take you from Thanksgiving straight through the new year. I love the classic, flattering cut, and the slit in the back lets you show off your boots. As the weather gets cooler, tall boots would be gorgeous with this outfit, along with chocolate brown tights for a little extra warmth. And if you want to wear it a bit more casually, throw on a crewneck or cardigan sweater.
I’ve paired it with a gorgeous sheer lace blouse from Dôen that has so many styling possibilities. It would be beautiful underneath a jacket or blazer, and I can’t wait to wear it with black leather pants for a completely different look. My little fur collar adds the perfect finishing touch and would look just as good over a jacket when the temperatures drop.
If you haven’t started thinking about festive outfits, consider this your nudge. Finding something you love now means one less thing to think about when the invitations start arriving!

I’m looking forward to having a few reasons to dress up over the next couple of months, and this skirt will definitely be making more than one appearance. Half the fun is seeing how many different ways I can wear it! Thanks so much for reading today…I’d love to know if you save your sparkle for the holidays or wear it whenever the mood strikes.
