A pioneer of the American sportswear aesthetic, Katharine Hepburn embraced wide-legged, roomy trousers long before her Hollywood peers. She was considered a fashion trailblazer because she literally wore menswear inspired blazers instead of the tailored dresses that were popular during the height of her fame. These days, Hepburn’s looks seem far less daring in terms of what women on the big screen wear off duty, but they’re still inspiring!
Katherine Hepburn challenged fashion norms by prioritizing comfort and individuality. It would take other movie stars decades to catch up to her sartorial nonchalance, which is probably the reason that 70-year-old images of the actor are still so alluring. Her signature style was one of understated chicness – a loose fitting suit complete with a white collarless undershirt and a classic suit vest. A pair of loafers and white socks completed the look!
While I don’t have on a suite in these pictures, my look was definitely inspired by Katherine Hepburn. It’s a little out of my box, but very comfortable and I love it!

Love this post! Looks comfortable, warm and fresh for spring! Be sure and include a picture of you and your new grandson in future posts from your upcoming trip to Germany! Much love and safe travels!
Hi Barbara
I’m sure everyone will be tired of all the many pictures I post from Germany! I cannot wait to meet this little guy!
Hi Suzanne,
You look great, love this outfit. I wear something similar regularly. Only no heels anymore!
Hope you’re enjoying the beginning of Spring!
