Summer is my favorite time for makeup. We’re all looking to achieve that bronzed sun kissed look that goes so well with bold, bright, lip and cheek colors. I’ve been buying lots of pink lipsticks in every shade and adding just a little more bronzer along with some shimmer to my makeup routine. Summer is also a time when we lighten up our skincare routine and never forget the sunscreen. Today, I’m partnering with Nordstrom to share some of my favorite makeup and skin care products for summer! Some of these products I’ve been using for years and some I’ve just discovered and can’t wait to share with you!

As I’ve gotten older, dressing well and taking care of my skin have become more important to me than ever! I want to age as gracefully as possible and Nordstrom has all the products I need to help with that! I wear sunscreen every day under my foundation no matter what the season, but in the summer, I really step up the sun protection to help prevent any more fine lines and wrinkles!

When it comes to getting dressed in the summer, I love to pair a bold lip with a bold dress and Trina Turk designs are fun and always have bold prints on everything from dresses to swimsuits and more!. Above, I’m wearing a Trina Turk dress with the perfect color Dior Addict Stellar Shine lipstick, Quay cat eye sunglasses and Giorgio Armani’s radiant face powder. I dust this face shimmery face powder over Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation (my favorite all time foundation) to achieve a radiant effortless glow! For a more budget friendly foundation option with a sheer finish, try Clinique Moisture Surge Sheertint Hydrator. It contains broad spectrum SPF 25 sun protection that lasts for 12 hours!

I’ve tried so many self tanners, but when I want a natural looking tan…fast, I always go with St Tropez Self Tan Express. It’s easy to use with a tan applicator mitt and gives me a sunk kissed glow in just one hour or a deep, dark bronze tan in as little as three hours. It’s really important to apply a self tanner over freshly exfoliated skin and the StriVectin Crepe Control is one of my top picks…I guess everyone loved it as much as I did because it’s sold out at the moment! Two others that I would recommend are the Moroccan Oil Body Scrubbing Polish and the Le Labo Body Scrub (this one is messy but smells so delicious)!

As I’ve gotten older, taking care of my skin has become more important than ever and using a light moisturizer under my makeup is the perfect start to my summer skincare routine. I recently tried Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream…it literally floods my skin with moisture for a glowing complexion AND it promotes healthy cell renewal. This moisturizer has a clean, fresh scent that I love and goes on like a dream under my foundation!

While I’ve been trying out some new products, I always go back to some of my tried and true favorites and one of those is the YSL Touche Eclat High Cover Radiant Undereye Concealer Pen. I order the 1.5 Beige in multiples so that I never run out! I’ve been using it for years and haven’t found one I like better!

I try to always wear a hat when I know I’ll be out in the sun, and sunscreen is crucial to prevent my face from tanning. I wear sunscreen under my makeup, and also like Coola Refreshing Water Mist Sunscreen to throw in my pool bag (or cooler) as an extra defense. It’s an alcohol-free sunscreen water mist with organic aloe and coconut water to defend from digital and environmental pollution. Coola is also great as my only sunscreen on a day when I don’t wear makeup which is hardly ever. I will admit that I have a lip product addiction. I absolutely always have something on my lips and have lipstick, lip gloss and lip moisturizing products stashed all over the house and in all my handbags. I’m all about a moisturized, shiny lip. My husband jokes and says that I’ve probably eaten my weight in lipstick over the years! Two other tried and true favorite products for me are Jo Malone Vitamin E Lip Conditioner and Buxom Plumping Lip Cream. I use the lip conditioner every night and love to wear the lip cream over my lipstick! I’ve also recently tried NARS Oil Infused Lip Tint which is very sheer and moisturizing! In my opinion, you can never have too many lip products!

Along with a good book and a couple of magazines, my beach bag essentials always include sunglasses, lipstick or lip gloss and sunscreen. There are so many great sunscreens to try these days and one brand that I’ve been wanting to try is Supergoop, so I’m ordering these for my upcoming trip to the beach…
