My Everyday Favorites – Beauty, Home & A Few Little Luxuries

01

People often ask about products I actually use day after day…my everyday favorites. While I love discovering new things, there are certain products that have earned permanent spots on my bathroom counter, in my makeup bag, and in my kitchen. These are the things I reach for without thinking because they simply work and I love them. Here are ten things I’d happily replace tomorrow if they disappeared plus a bonus item at the end that’s just fabulous!

About three years ago, my hair was in terrible shape. Years of all-over color, over-processing, and the hormonal changes that came with menopause had left it dry, unhealthy, and much thinner than it had been. I knew I needed to make some changes if I wanted healthy hair again.

Around that time, I found a wonderful hairstylist who completely changed my approach. Instead of coloring my hair every few weeks, she introduced me to a grey-blending technique that works with my natural color, including my grey, and uses highlights with a gentle toner to soften the transition. I now only have my hair colored every eight to twelve weeks, which has made a tremendous difference.

That’s also when I started taking Nutrafol. While I credit my healthier hair to the combination of a gentler coloring routine, more patience, and better overall care, Nutrafol became an important part of that journey. I truly believe it helped my hair grow more quickly and become healthier as it grew out. I continue to take Nutrafol daily!

It wasn’t an overnight transformation—it took the better part of three years. Today, I’m happy to say my hair is thick, healthy, and extension-free. If you’ve struggled with thinning or damaged hair during midlife, I know how discouraging it can feel. For me, consistency really paid off.

If I had to pick one skincare product that feels like a little luxury every single day, it would be this cleansing balm from Elemis. Every evening, I remove most of my makeup first with makeup wipes, then massage the balm into my dry skin for a few minutes. It smells absolutely heavenly and dissolves every last bit of makeup.

My favorite part comes next. I soak a washcloth in hot water, lay it over my face, and just breathe. It feels like a mini facial at home and is one of those little rituals that signals the day is over. It’s simple, but it’s something I look forward to every night.

This Cactus Water Toner from Freck was actually gifted to me, and I’ll admit it sat on my bathroom counter for a while before I finally tried it. Once I did, though, I was hooked.

Every morning and evening, I apply it with a cotton pad after cleansing. It gently exfoliates my skin, leaving it feeling fresh and smooth, and I’ve noticed it helps my skin look brighter and more even. As I’ve gotten older, uneven skin tone has become a concern, so anything that helps in that department earns a place in my routine.

I also love the light, fresh fragrance and, if I’m being honest, the bottle is beautiful enough that I don’t mind leaving it sitting out on my vanity. It’s one of those products that’s both effective and a pleasure to use.

I picked up this lipstick from Trish McEvoy while I was in New York back in May, and it’s been my go-to ever since. The shade is called Delicate, and I knew the minute I tried it on that it would be the perfect color for summer.

It checks every box for me. The formula is sheer, moisturizing, and incredibly comfortable to wear. At this stage in my life, a matte lipstick is simply not for me…I prefer a soft, natural finish that keeps my lips feeling hydrated throughout the day.

My only regret? I didn’t buy two…one to keep in my handbag and one to leave in my makeup drawer. I’ll definitely be placing an order soon.

This coffee from Fabula was another product that was gifted to me, and it’s become one of my favorite daily indulgences. One morning, Baldy made the coffee, and from the very first sip I knew something was different. It was one of the best cups of coffee I’d had in a long time.

I asked him what he had used, and he showed me the bag of Fabula. That was all it took. I’ve since reordered it myself and finally put it on a subscription because I never want to run out.

I’m pretty serious about my morning coffee, and this one is so delicious…it’s also organic, low acid and single origin. It’s as easy to enjoy as it is delicious. I truly look forward to my morning coffee!

I first purchased this bronzer from YSE after seeing someone use it on Instagram about two years ago, and it’s been part of my makeup routine ever since. Sometimes those impulse purchases don’t work out…this one absolutely did.

I apply it straight from the tube along my cheekbones, around my forehead, on the sides and tip of my nose, and along my jawline before blending it with a brush. It melts into my skin beautifully and gives me that subtle, “I just got back from the beach” warmth without ever looking heavy or orange.

If I had to narrow my makeup bag down to just a handful of products, this bronzer would definitely make the cut. It’s one of those products I use every single day.

Who would have thought that one of my favorite beauty discoveries would be toothpaste? Last September, a new clothing boutique opened here in Burlington. The owner is a friend of mine with impeccable taste, so when I noticed she was carrying Marvis toothpaste, I figured it had to be special. It seemed like an unusual product for a clothing boutique, but I trusted her enough to give it a try.

That was all it took. I haven’t used another toothpaste since. Marvis comes in several different flavors, but I always come back to the Whitening Mint. I have tried the Lavender (I know…) as well, and it’s wonderful.

It’s one of those everyday products that feels a little luxurious. From the beautiful packaging to the rich, creamy texture, it makes brushing your teeth feels just a bit more special. It’s proof that sometimes the smallest things can elevate your daily routine.

If I had to pick just one product from Westman Atelier, it would be this cream blush in Dou Dou. It blends perfectly with my LYS bronzer and gives me that healthy, rosy glow that looks natural instead of overly made up. I wear it almost every day, and one of the things I love most is how easy it is to reapply if I’m heading out for dinner or just need a little pick-me-up later in the afternoon.

I know this fragrance from Dries Van Noten is definitely an investment, but then again, everything Dries Van Noten creates is. Even so, I think it’s worth every penny. The scent is called Crazy Basil, and it’s absolutely divine…fresh, green, sophisticated, and completely addictive.

In fact, I’ve been known to get up in the middle of the night and give myself another spritz just because I love it that much. (Yes, really!)

I was walking around at the farmers market last week when a woman tapped me on the shoulder and said, “I’ve been chasing you around because I have to know what perfume you’re wearing!” That’s happened more than once…it’s one of those fragrances people remember.

While it isn’t inexpensive, a little goes a long way and I don’t regret purchasing it even a little bit!

This Lawless lip pencil was another purchase inspired by someone I follow on Instagram. I had been using a Makeup Forever lip pencil for years until they discontinued it, and I couldn’t seem to find anything that compared. Then I discovered this one in the shade Rosewood, and it quickly became my new favorite.

I don’t line my lips every time I apply lipstick…usually just after I finish my makeup in the morning or anytime I’m being photographed, but when I do, this is the one I reach for.

It’s creamy, moisturizing, glides on beautifully, and the Rosewood shade is the perfect neutral. If you’ve been looking for a lip pencil that defines your lips without looking harsh, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

I’m veering just a bit from beauty products to share these gorgeous handmade linens from a company called Mari Jones. Mari sent me a message on Instagram a few days ago asking if she could send me some of her placemats and napkins. Of course, I immediately replied, “Thank you…yes!”

When she asked me to choose a pattern, I told her to send her favorites. As it turns out, she has wonderful taste because they instantly became my favorites too. I absolutely love the vibrant colors, beautiful prints, and the craftsmanship. They feel collected, timeless, and completely my style.

For this post, I quickly pulled together a few of my favorite dishes and accessories so you could get a glimpse of how beautiful they are, but this is just the beginning. I already have ideas swirling around for a full tablescape, and I can’t wait to share it with you very soon.

This little mention isn’t sponsored…I just love supporting small, women-owned businesses whenever I can, especially when they create something this beautiful. If you’re looking for linens that make an everyday meal feel a little more special, I encourage you to follow Mari on Instagram and visit her website. I have a feeling you’ll find something you’ll love just as much as I did.

I’m including a boutique below with everything from this post…

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little peek into some of my everyday favorites. These are the products I reach for again and again that I love! Whether it’s a cup of coffee that starts my morning, a lipstick that always feels just right, or a beautiful set of linens that inspires me to set the table, I truly believe it’s the little things that add up to a beautiful life. If you have an everyday favorite that you think I should know about, I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

Thanks so much for reading today!

~XOXO Suzanne
