Monochromatic Travel Style

01

As many of you know, My husband and I recently went to Germany to visit our daughter Sarah and her family! I am a notoriously bad packer and I’m not going to say that I did much better this time…I took way toooooo much! However, I did pack a few items from Boston Proper’s Beyond Travel Collection and they were lifesavers.

While we were there, we stayed with Sarah but we went on several excursions and spent a night in Prague. While we were out and about, we walked a lot (I did not wear the shoes pictured), and I felt a little wilted at times, but more put together than I would have expected because of keeping my outfits monochromatic and also because the Beyond Travel Collection doesn’t wrinkle. These travel pieces also took up very little space in my suitcase (don’t worry, I filled that space with other things) and any wrinkles fell out quickly after unpacking.

The button front collared maxi dress pictured here was a lifesaver! I love it with heels but it looks just as good with flats. You could always throw a pair of heels in your bag to instantly dress it up for dinner. It’s such a comfortable and flattering dress and I love the modest slit and v-neck. This dress also comes in an aqua blue, navy and black if you prefer those colors.

The cropped set I’m wearing here is so chic and extremely comfortable! It is also perfect with heels or flats and comes in navy and black.

The Beyond Travel Collection from Boston Proper has tons of essentials that are perfect for a quick weekend getaway or traveling abroad! What’s your next destination? Let me know in the comments!

Hello! I’m loving that button down dress in navy blue, also thinking it would be a great cooler weather dress paired with my dove grey faux suede knee high boots and some sort of under shirt or sweater.

To answer your question, through out the summer we do a lot of hiking, kayaking and day trips. Our big trip this year is visiting our daughter who’s stationed in Texas and the hopefully the Grand Canyon.

Also planning on taking off sometime in September for a solo writers retreat for about a week. I’m wrapping up a novel and I need to gear up for the next project that’s been on the back burner. Taking a week to focus solely on outlining and research with nothing to distract me makes the transition easier and I’m much more productive.

      Hi April

Yes that navy dress will take you right into fall and would look amazing styled with grey boots!

Your summer plans sound like so much fun! Is your daughter in the army? We have a son-in-law in the army and they are stationed in Germany but thankfully coming back to the states at the end of this month after 3 years!
I’ve never been to the Grand Canyon and would love to go!

Your writers retreat also sounds like heaven and I’m so impressed that you’re writing a novel! I would love to know more about it! I also agree that a week of focus (alone) would be a productive week! Maybe I need to look into that! Enjoy your summer and thank you for commenting!
