There’s something so romantic about late September…the golden light, the first cool evenings, the way summer lingers into fall. The days are still warm enough for an open window and lunch outside, while dusk brings the need for a sweater on an evening walk.

For just a little while, the seasons overlap, and there’s as much beauty in what’s fading as in what’s about to begin. That’s what I love about September!

Today, I’m sharing a few looks that work well now and into October as the season begins to change.

This has been the year for Bermuda shorts, and I love wearing them into fall with a sweater and boots. The look is a bit unexpected and perfect for those warm days with cooler evenings. The poncho below works beautifully for now and later, and the whole look is anchored by those fabulous Ralph Lauren boots. The scarf and suede bag add a bit of elegance to an otherwise rustic look.

This leopard jacket is a dressy because of the fabric making it very versatile. Wear it casually as I’ve styled it here with a white tee, light wash jeans and red Mary Janes, or dress it up with trousers and heels. Simple, classic jewelry, sunglasses and a suede bag complete this easy fall look.

I’m in love with this gorgeous sheer balloon blouse that makes a statement all on its own, and I love it paired with dark wash jeans and leopard boots. The bold necklace brings a bit of boho flair to the look…imagine it with a simple white tee!

Over the years, I’ve found that having a few great pieces of statement jewelry and beautiful accessories makes getting dressed so much easier. They’re the pieces that make even a simple outfit feel like you.

Today is my last day in Spain and I have a very long day of travel tomorrow. It’s been such a great trip…I’ve made new friends and had so many fun experiences! I will admit that I’m ready to get home to my family and my sweet pups! I’ll be sharing more about my trip next week…
