I think (hope) that there are many new readers here on Crazy Blonde Life, so I thought I’d share a little about my journey… but let’s go backward, because I think that explains things better.

Last year (2025) was a year of learning, change, and growth. When 2026 arrived, I was determined to show up in a more authentic way. One of the biggest lessons I learned was to trust my intuition. When something keeps coming up again and again and I have an off feeling about it, that’s not random. I truly believe that when I operate from a place of authenticity, it benefits me and the people around me and making decisions intuitively is authentic. Easier said than done sometimes, but here we are.

When you put something out there, watch out because you never know how things will evolve. The state of our country has concerned me deeply over the past couple of months, and I’ve done some serious reflection on how I’m living and the choices I’m making. I just spent 15 minutes canceling all my Amazon subscriptions because I can no longer look the other way. You might be thinking, that’s a huge turnaround and it is. I would rather change my mind and say “I was wrong” than pretend it never happened. Amazon was a way to grow my income, and it’s simply no longer worth it for me. You won’t see Amazon here anymore. Instead, I’ll be doing a weekly “under $200” post featuring affordable items from other sources.

Along those same lines…when my daughters were growing up, I spent hours finding the best local food. We were vegetarian at the time, and I sourced as much as possible locally…picking blueberries and strawberries to freeze and spending hours cooking and finding the best local foods…making healthy eating a real priority. Fast forward to today, and most of that has gone by the wayside. It’s not that I don’t cook healthy meals, I’ve just prioritized convenience over sustainability and quality. Yesterday my daughter said, “Mom, I can’t afford to to eat and shop that way.” As we talked, I shared ideas about how to shop, cook, and plan. Eating well doesn’t have to break the bank, but it does take time. So I’m going back to my roots…sourcing as much as possible from local farms and small businesses and that will be reflected in my content…I think you’ll like it!

Choosing sustainability over convenience is a conscious decision rooted in my belief that we are stewards of this earth…though you’d never know it from some of my choices last year. Lesson learned.

It’s all about consciousness, a waking up, or maybe a re-awakening.

Over the past year, I had also completely let my meditation practice go… until this morning. You see, I woke up once again feeling despair about what’s happening around us, and meditation felt like the only way to quiet my mind. I love Michael Beckwith and followed one of his meditations on YouTube. It felt really good… like coming back to myself …only stronger, and with a few more lessons under my belt.

What I took away from my meditation was a calmness rooted in gratitude for everything I have and everything that’s possible. It doesn’t fix everything, but it makes today more meaningful. Looking for joy, counting blessings, and spreading that to others…that feels better than despair and it’s what I can do. A little stillness always brings a bit of clarity.

Women are builders of community. We are nurturers and caregivers, and that is powerful. I can build community by supporting local farmers, small businesses, and my neighbors. We can all make a difference with our choices… how we spend our money and our time.

I’m still running a business, one I built from the ground up, and making money keeps it going. But I’ll be much more intentional about what I bring to you, from food to fashion to products. I’m staying true to myself.

This feels like coming home.

I paired the with an older striped blouse, a grey sweater from Sezane, a bag from Polene Paris and my fabulous silver cowboy boots that seem to work with almost everything! And to think that I woke up this morning with nothing to say…you just never know what’s in store but you have to be open the possibilities!
