For some reason, society wants to put “women of a certain age” in a box and tell us what we should or shouldn’t be wearing. Don’t listen to any of that. Listen to yourself…find your confidence and dress to suit yourself. Any woman can wear a pretty dress, but a woman who is wearing that dress with confidence is a whole different story!

When warm weather finally comes, I start thinking about dresses because they make life so much easier…it’s one and done dressing! And…dresses are so much fun to accessorize with statement earrings, bracelets, shoes and bags! I don’t know if it’s turning 60 or just the change of seasons, but I’m wanting to wear bright colors and dress up more! I’ve also probably purchased ten new pairs of statement earrings and I’m having the best time wearing them with my new dresses! I think a fabulous pair of earrings can really make an outfit!

I’ve purchased long dresses, short dresses, afternoon on the porch dresses, fancy dresses, dancing dresses, romantic dresses and beach walking dresses! This one from Ulla Johnson is a party dress and perfect for dancing because the ruffles flutter as you twirl! It’s unexpectedly tie dye , but not in the way you would expect! It’s unexpected and playful in a very cool way, and it definitely works!

I really started enjoying dresses a couple of years ago and I’ve tried to purchase ones that will stand the test of time (with a few exceptions). Longer dresses are trending right now, but there are still find plenty of shorter styles for every occasion.

White dresses have never gone out of style for summer and this year you will find everything from tailored shirt dresses to long flowing romantic dresses! It seems that anything goes and again, it’s the accessories that really make the look!

Linen never goes out of style and (obviously), there will always be florals. Pink is also trending in a big way in every shade imaginable! As you can see, dresses in general are enjoying a moment!

On thing I think is important to add here…

Trends will come and go and it’s fun to add trending pieces to your wardrobe each season if it’s a trend you like! I don’t believe we “should” or “shouldn’t” wear anything because we are a certain age. The things (trends) that are inappropriate are usually just inappropriate, not having anything to do with the age of the person wearing these things.
