This classic everyday look is simple…a cream cardigan and straight-leg jeans with loafers. But the accessories give it real personality. Layered pearls add a little drama, while the oversized chocolate-brown woven bag brings texture and a relaxed feel. Brown plaid loafers keep it practical and polished, and the pushed-up sleeves and casually buttoned cardigan make it feel very “elegantly undone.” I have been wearing a version of this look often and I find it perfect for fall.

The cardigan sweater is from Doen and such a great color…soft and perfect for layering, the jeans are older from Mother but I actually just ordered another pair of the exact jeans. I think the slim fit and straight leg really go well with loafers and they’re slightly cropped so the shoes can really shine. Which…brings me to the fabulous brown loafers from The Office of Us. They are brown plaid Italian suede leather…so classic but with a twist and very comfortable. You can count on compliments when you wear these shoes. I added a brown suede bag and my strand of pearls from Julie Miles because pearls go with everything. I think the length of the strand is a bit unexpected and I like that!

I’ve been wearing these shoes for years and absolutely love them. They’re shoes that never go out of style and always look amazing!

This is the kind of outfit that makes me want to put something on the calendar…a little antique shopping, lunch somewhere with a good wine list, and absolutely no rushing home. Nothing terribly dressed up, but certainly worth getting dressed for!
