Happy July 4th! Today, it’s all about family and food!
Baldy is smoking chicken for my Smoked Blueberry Chicken Salad…it’s so delicious and a real crowd pleaser! I’m also serving a delicious Corn and Peach Salad, Mac & Cheese for the boys, Watermelon Frozé, Tomato Salad with Burrata and Pesto, Thai Chopped Salad and a homemade chocolate pie with ice cream. My sister is bringing homemade hummus for an appetizer so I’m sure we’ll all be stuffed by the end of the night! For now…I’m off to sit by the pool for a while and enjoy this beautiful day!

The bowl that I served the Thai Salad in was a wedding gift that we received almost 30 years ago. It is a stenciled tin bowl that was popular in the 1960’s. It is one of my favorite serving pieces, especially for outdoor dining and I think it’s perfect for July 4th and beyond. I found two exact bowls on Etsy and they’re linked below along with a few other items that make cooking easier!

That tomato/burrata/pesto salad will be dinner tonight with grilled chicken and corn on the cob. Yum!
