Time to Get Cozy

And just like that…our weather turned from gorgeous and mild to downright cold! We’ve had the most glorious weather until today and the high was 58! I’ve been freezing all day long and we’ve had to turn on the heat! It will get warmer next week but for now…I’m really not prepared because my winter clothes (sweaters, boots, etc.) are packed away in bins because of our closet/bathroom renovation! Can you guess what I’ll be doing this weekend just in time for temperatures to be back into the 70’s! We usually have warmer weather at least through October with maybe a few cool days but I definitely want to be prepared when the temps drop again to stay!

The cooler temperatures do have me thinking about getting cozy and so today, I’m sharing a few things to do (and wear) when it’s cold outside! Keep scrolling because this is a good post…be sure to read the article about the benefits of colder weather for our bodies! You’ll also want to revisit the two recipes I’m sharing below because it’s healthy comfort food season and they’re so delicious!

The cozy outfit I’m wearing is from Boston Proper (only available in a pretty pink now) and I do truly love it! It’s so soft and warm and perfect for chilly mornings and evenings by the fire! Can you tell that sitting by our outdoor fireplace is one of my favorite things in the world?

I found a few similar sets at great prices here!

Summer is usually when I read the most, but I’m determined to read a few books this fall! There really is nothing better than getting cozy with a good book! I read Becoming Madam Secretary this summer (it was excellent) but haven’t read An American Beauty or On Mystic Lake…they are ordered and in the queue.

Have you seen the John Derian for Target Thanksgiving pieces for fall! They are amazing and so well priced!

“Designer John Derian has a passion for vintage illustration, drawn to 18th and 19th century imagery of the natural world. Collaborating with Target in a limited-time collection, these gorgeous and giftable pieces are sure to find a favored place at any holiday celebration.”

I’m especially loving the cute butter dish and artichoke candle which is unscented. Picture these artichoke candles scattered on your Thanksgiving table among pumpkins and seasonal greenery!

All of these pieces will add a touch of whimsical fall to your home decor.

When the weather gets cooler, I always want to have hand cream and lip balm within reach. I’ve found these clean beauty products from Evolve Together that smell so delicious and are so very moisturizing. You’ll want to have them in every room!

And finally…I’m leaving you with a recipe from What’s Gaby Cooking - Mom’s Apple Crisp! I’m making this today so we can have it over the weekend with vanilla ice cream!
