The Hot Jean Trend for 2020
The new big non–skinny jean trend is here, and couldn't be chicer. Skinny jeans will truly never die, and I for one, don’t want them to, I’ve become slightly obsessed with the new cropped wide leg denim trend that are just the opposite of skinnies. Flare and bootcut styles have been trending, and now you can add high-rise wide-leg jeans to that trending list.
These are full-length or cropped jeans with a trouser-like wide leg and a waist-cinching high rise. At first, I found the trend to be a little intimidating and hesitated to try them because of the high waist, but there are so many styles to choose from, making it a trend everyone can wear. In my opinion, they look a little more dressed up than skinnies, depending on the shoe and they are compatible with the cropped style blouses that are everywhere right now. Style them with ankle boots, square toe sandals, platforms and sneakers to dress them down.
I’ve styled mine in the picture below with a cropped blouse by Ulla Johnson and block heel platforms.
Styling Tip: Wearing platforms with wide-leg denim gives them a retro feel…70’s retro is very of the moment!
Styling Tip: Try something cropped on top to really highlight the high-rise denim. (You don’t necessarily have to tuck it in)!
Styling Tip: The high-rise, wide-fit denim even looks sophisticated with a simple white tee.
Styling Tip: A top with voluminous sleeves makes a chic statement.
