Holiday House Tour 2024

Finally, I have finished decorating our home for Christmas! It has certainly been a challenge this year because of the renovations that we have going on upstairs!

The whole family will be home for Christmas and I really wanted the house to look and feel special. It’s a labor of love to decorate everything (and definitely to put it all away when Christmas is over)!

It seemed more important than ever this year to create a space that felt normal and so I went all out! I hope you enjoy this post and I hope you are inspired to add a few extra touches to your home!

And…a very special thank you to Kim Love (Tables pour Deux) who spent hours helping me…making bows, arranging things and even making a trip to Home Goods. The house looks beautiful and I couldn’t have done it without her!

This year, I used primarily pink, orange and gold and I think it’s my favorite color combination! The wide ribbon is from d. Stephens and I actually did get the plaid from Amazon but can’t find it now.

The lucite console in my entry is decorated with large gold pine cones that came from Creme de la Creme in Richmond. They were on my Thanksgiving table and I love them here for Christmas. I also have a beautiful amaryliss, a Christmas candle and a wreath on the mirror. I have so enjoyed this little vignette!

Living Room

And the tree…I learned last year that I love a tall skinny tree and that’s exactly what we found this year! It doesn’t take up too much of the room and it’s so much easier to decorate! The tree is filled with Christopher Radko ornaments, ornaments that the girls made over the years, and other sentimental ornaments. I filled in with large and small gold balls, gold garland and lots of ribbon. This may be my favorite tree ever! I always plan to do a gift wrapping theme and give everyone a different wrapping paper, but for some reason it never happens. I did wrap the children’s gifts in more specific papers but…I’m not finished yet! Hopefully, I’ll be able to turn on the Christmas music this weekend and finish up! I’m ready to enjoy the house and watch a Christmas movie!

A collection of mercury glass ornaments and tree toppers along with decorative Christmas trees surrounds a Murano glass vase.

The greenery on the mantle really adds to the festive decor and the two stockings in the living room belong to the two baby girls!

I always fill this gorgeous bowl with beautiful ornaments and I hate to put them away every year because they’re so pretty!

Sun Room

This tree was a labor of love! I bought the tree from Amazon and filled it with fuschia ornaments (also from Amazon) and then, I hand strung dried oranges to make a garland, added the ribbon and a few silk roses. I think it’s stunning and the kids love it!

Don’t be afraid to mix and match your expensive things with other items. The large nutcracker came from Hobby Lobby, the smaller nutcracker was purchased on a trip to Germany, the Radko snow globe belonged to my mom and the Santa music box is so old that I don’t even remember!

Adding festive crackers to your table is a great tradition and these are the prettiest ones I’ve ever seen. I got them at a Houses & Parties pop-up that was going on while we were in New York. The kids love them and it’s always so much fun to see what everyone has in their cracker!

I left my crystal candlesticks on the table and added fresh greenery with ribbon and an ornament in addition to some vintage green mid century vases for a simple and elegant Christmas table. I set the table with gold chargers and Lennox Eternal dinner plates. The smaller plates with the wide gold rim are vintage and I treasure them. Gold silk napkins along complete the place setting. I will confess that I give everyone a really nice paper napkin so that I don’t have to take the silk napkins to the dry cleaners and it makes life so much easier!

This pretty little Christmas tree sits on a demilune table in the dining room. I placed the tree in a compote and added “snow” and decorated the tree with small silver and gold ornaments and gold ribbon. It’s perfect to add a little sparkle to the room.

Parlor

This huge acid yellow bowl is one of my favorite things and filling it with orange and pink ornaments made me love it even more!

And the stockings were hung…

Den

These candlesticks feel festive but I’ll leave them after Christmas because they look great all year long!

The bar sparkles with the bottles placed in this gorgeous nickel serving tray!

A little vignette on the ottoman…fresh greenery, a holiday candle, hershey kisses in a crystal bowl, a pretty book and matches.

Breakfast Room

Mercury glass ornaments hang from the chandelier.

The breakfast room table is set with Wedgewood Nantucket Basket plates, square placemats from Pottery Barn, vintage Pink glasses and pink and green napkins.

The gorgeous bow on the bar cart makes it so festive…the trees are collected over the years.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my holiday house tour! I love the way the house looks this time of year and I hope you’ve found a little inspiration here!
