Pretty in Pink
How is it that it’s already August 21? This year is flying by so quickly (I always say that) and things are somewhat chaotic over here! We started our bathroom/closet renovation (scroll for a picture) and I can’t even describe the mess. It’s not from the construction, it’s honestly from my clothes and shoes! I have things everywhere because I just don’t have enough storage to put everything in a closet. This project is making me rethink how much I really need as far as clothes go, although when this is over, I will have a place to store it all. I just want to make sure that I don’t put anything back in my new closet that I don’t truly love! Quality over quantity is what I’m going for at this point!
I will definitely be keeping anything and everything from Brochu Walker…the quality is impeccable, and each piece is classic and so beautiful!
The look I’m wearing here is a little out of my box…I don’t remember the last time I wore a pencil skirt, but I do love this particular pencil skirt! It’s a creamy, dreamy faux leather with a front slit and side zipper. It’s so comfortable and has the perfect amount of stretch.
The gorgeous 100% light pink cashmere sweater is the perfect pairing for the weather we’re having right now and it’s so soft.
I paired these pieces with my Gucci sandals that I’ve worn nonstop since I got them last summer, but later in the season when the weather is cooler, I’ll wear booties or even a pair of pumps. I’m going to have to play around with styling this skirt because the possibilities are endless. I would even wear a graphic tee with a pair of short booties and a jacket for a totally different look!
Where to Wear…
I can see this ensemble being worn out to lunch or for a day of shopping…anything girly and feminine!
I’m once again attending the Design Matters event held in Chapel Hill, NC at the Carolina Inn and this I think this outfit would be absolutely perfect. Design Matters is a series of events held each year to celebrate design, art and architecture and is a fundraiser for the UNC Children’s Hospital. The speakers this year include Tori Mellot, Editor & Associate Vice President at Schumacher and Beth Webb, Interior Designer & Tastemaker. The final day is a Set the Table presentation (see picture below) featuring inspired tablescapes, original art and floral designs. There is so much inspiration and I always leave with great ideas for entertaining and decor! You may enjoy this post that was inspired by last years Design Matters.
My fabulous jewelry is from Julie Vos! I love layering the bracelets for a pop of pink that goes with the sweater! My bag is from Smith & Co. Jewelry.
Below is a picture of our bathroom…down to the studs! I’ll be sharing more about the fixtures, bathtub, cabinetry etc., as the project goes on! It’s very exciting, but not fun to live through as I’m sure many of you know!
And a quote…
