How to Wear a Sheer Skirt + Day 4 of My Holiday Giveaway

"Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world.  Don't let anything stand in the way of the light that shines through this form.  Risk being seen in all of your glory." ~ Jim Carrey

There are so many things to love about New York City...especially during the holiday season!  You can wear anything on the streets and no one even gives you a second glance because you see everything there!  I'm trying to be a little more daring with my clothing choices and the holiday season is a great time to start!

These pictures were taken by my new friend Jeanne Rene Barousse.  She is a photographer in New York and I met her through my best friends daughter, Grayson.  I contacted Jeanne Rene before my trip to New York to see if she would be available to take some pictures for the blog and it all worked out perfectly.  We hit it off immediately and walked around the city taking pictures and talking!  Jeanne Rene is originally from New Orleans and has been in New York for about 5 years.  She photographs interiors and does aerial photography of buildings in the city...sounds like a dream job to me!

I stumbled on this skirt from Forever 21 somewhere online and decided it would be fun to photograph on the street.  I knew I wanted to be warm, so I wore leather leggings and Stuart Weitzman tall boots under with a turtleneck and faux fur vest.  I thought it made a fun outfit!

I ordered a pretzel and some roasted chestnuts from this street vendor.  Having never had roasted chestnuts, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.  If anyone out there likes them, I'm not sure why?, or maybe I shouldn't have had my first experience with them on a street corner.  Anyway, the pretzel was good and it was great fun to have my picture made in this outfit!
