A Joyous Outrageous Journey
Happily move along on your joyous, outrageous journey!
This past week was a wild ride! I met so many new people, and had opportunities that I'm very excited about! I know that there is no such thing as coincidence, it's all about wether you're paying attention when the Universe presents you with opportunities. I'm so excited about some of the things that are coming up in the weeks to come and you can believe that I'll be blogging about them! The most exciting thing for me this week is that Hudson and Lauren are coming on Wednesday and staying until Sunday! I treasure any time that I have to spend with my family!
On Thursday of this week, Tanger Outlets is sponsoring a She Expo and will be presenting two fashion shows, one with looks for Fall 2017 and one with Holiday looks. I'm going to dress up and play model for a day and be in both of them! I've never been in a fashion show with a runway and even though I know it's not New York Fashion week (that's next year), I'm still a little nervous! I went this past week to learn how to walk and let me tell you, it's not as easy as these models make it look! I just hope that I can pull it off and look like I know what I'm doing.
Even with all of the exciting things going on in my life, some days seem hard and I feel tired and want to stay home in my PJ's, but it's so important to get up and get out! The Magic never happens when you're sitting around feeing sorry for yourself! Getting out and having an open mind to opportunities is so important to being on the right path. Having a routine is a good thing, but stepping out of our boxes and going different places and meeting new people is so important! Trust your inner voice and do what feels right.
Most women are really great at building relationships, empowering other people and juggling so many responsibilities. Those skills can serve us well as our lives change and our children grow up and begin independent lives of their own. Our life experiences have taught us to be leaders and contribute with our own unique skills. I talk to so many women who are in a very conflicting time of life because they don't know what they're supposed to be doing. The possibilities are endless if we're open to them. Don't be afraid to recreate yourself at any age and move along on your joyous outrageous journey one day at a time!
Just a word about what I'm wearing because I'm pretty obsessed with this Johnny Was blouse from Rebecca & Co in Greensboro, NC (similar here and see more here). I'm not the biggest camo fan, but the embroidery on this blouse is so exquisite that it won me over. I paired it with Citizens of Humanity pants that I've had for several years, my Chloe bag, and a hat that I got in Nashville last week! You can't see my booties, but they are classic brown Rag and Bone! I'm including some links for more of my favorite Johnny Was pieces below!
I never dreamed that I would be a blogger, but it has become my passion and every day, I meet new people and have exciting opportunities because of this Crazy Blonde Life blog!
Another one of my passions is food! I've been creating these gourmet grazing boards and this one that I did for The Very Thing Ltd., a design firm in Burlington, was one that I was especially proud of. I combined an amazing cheese selection with fruits, meats, tortellini skewers, hummus and nuts to make a beautiful seasonal spread.
Saturday was game day in Chapel Hill and even though we didn't win the game, it was still so much fun.
Tomato Pie is one of my favorites and I made one for dinner last night. These pies are so delicious and are even better left over AND they freeze well! Click here for the recipe.
It's the start of an exciting new week and I hope it's a good one for all of you! Thanks so much for reading! Please follow me on Instagram @crazyblondelifeblog and if you live close by, join me at the She Expo! Fashion photography by Emily Genzer.
