SATURDAY STRAWBERRY PICKING

Saturday morning, Mr. Crazy Blonde and I decided it would be fun to take Hudson strawberry picking!  We are so lucky to have Iseley Farm just 10 minutes from our house!  Iseley Farm has been in continuous production by the Iseley Family since 1790!  They sell strawberries and asparagus in the spring and then when the weather gets warmer and other things start to come in on the farm, they open up a market and sell fresh tomatoes, corn, okra, all kinds of beans and anything else that you can think of that is in season.  Then in the Fall, they have an enormous display of pumpkins and chrysanthemums and they have hay rides and a maze for the children.

I have been really excited about getting some fresh strawberries.  I'll freeze some of them for smoothies in the winter, but for now I'm just happy to eat them as they are...although a strawberry pie sounds delicious!

I think strawberries taste best while you're still in the strawberry patch!
