Happy Monday! We had quite a crazy weather weekend with storms almost every afternoon, which made the humidity absolutely through the roof. But…yesterday the weather gods finally gave us a nice afternoon. Still humid, but at least the sun was shining! I took advantage of it to get out with my photographer and get some work done, and one of the things I was most anxious to photograph was this fabulous Boden embroidered dress. It’s everything I love about a dress right now.

The thing I love most about it is the embroidery. Embroidered details are everywhere right now, and I love that they make this dress feel very special and of the moment without looking overly trendy. The colorful floral embroidery winds its way down the front, across the sleeves and around the hem, with tiny embroidered flowers scattered over the skirt. Against that yummy olive green, all of those colors really pop and give the dress an almost handcrafted feel. There’s even a bit of openwork near the hem and pretty covered buttons down the front—little details that you notice the longer you look at it.

And…can we talk about the olive green? It’s such a beautiful color heading into fall, but because the dress is linen, you can absolutely wear it right now. I love the long, slightly gathered sleeves, the full skirt and especially the wide tie belt that gives it shape without making it feel too structured. It’s flattering, feminine and honestly doesn’t need much else. I styled it with my gold Ulla Johnson shoes, which I think are so pretty with the olive and will be just as good with everything I’m wearing this fall.

I also pulled together a boutique (below) with more Boden pieces I’m loving, along with some other embroidered finds that you’ll definitely want to take a look at. Embroidery is having such a moment, and this dress is a beautiful way to wear it now and take it right into fall.

I think this dress is such a beautiful way to start easing into fall without rushing summer out the door just yet. The linen keeps it perfect for warm August days, while the olive green and gorgeous embroidery give just a little hint of what’s to come.
