Silk Taffeta, Leopard & My Kind of Maximalism

01

These are some of my favorite new photos for fall! I’m loving this casual outfit…the chocolate brown fall outfit against the grey wall, with a red bag that’s unexpected and really makes the look. My cardigan and silk taffeta cargo pants are from a brand called Donni. I first discovered Donni this summer when I bought my first pair of silk taffeta pants and a few tees. The pants (last seen here) immediately went into heavy rotation because of their comfort, quality, flattering fit and easy-to-wear style. So…when the new colors came out for fall, I knew I wanted a pair…the only problem was deciding which color. After much deliberation, I decided on this gorgeous, rich chocolate brown, but the oxblood color is also on my wish list…imagine that!

For this look, I added a brown rib knit cardigan, also from Donni, my leopard Roger Vivier slingbacks and a red bag from Tory Burch. The richness of the color and the textures just make me so happy. This is my kind of maximalism…rich fabrics, a little print and colors that look even better together. It’s a comfortable, easy-to-wear look that still feels luxurious.

Donni was founded by Alyssa Wasko in 2009 and makes every piece in Los Angeles, with an emphasis on beautiful fabrics and craftsmanship. Most of its production partners are women-owned or women-led which is another reason to appreciate a brand whose clothes combine everyday comfort with such thoughtful quality.

There are a few other items from Donni that are on my wishlist and at the top of the list are the sweater rib knit kick flare pants. They look so comfortable, but like everything else from Donni…polished. I also am eyeing the matching cotton v-neck sweater to wear with the pants. It’s such an easy look to throw on for everyday with a pair of kitten heels, loafers or even sneakers. They are also showing the green and white silk taffeta pants that I bought over the summer with a grey sweater set and I very much like the idea of being able to bring those pants into the fall season.

Baldy and I are leaving today for a wedding at the coast. Two of our daughters and their families will be there, and we’re all staying in a big house on the beach! It should be the best kind of chaos, and I’m so ready for the wedding festivities and time with my daughters and grandchildren.

This is the kind of weekend I look forward to…close enough to drive (no airports!!!), with plenty of downtime for walks on the beach and slow mornings. I could really use a little time away from the madness of repairing our home after the tree fell. It seems to be dragging on forever, but hopefully the end is in sight.

Follow along on Instagram Stories for a look around the cute little town of Beaufort and everything I’m wearing!

So…happy early weekend, everyone!
Thanks so much for reading today!

~XOXO Suzanne
