Summer is still in full swing and here in North Carolina, the heat is real! We’ve had temperatures in the 90’s and who even knows about the humidity…it’s brutal!
When it’s this hot out, dresses are the best option in my opinion and today, I’m sharing three dresses from Boston Proper that are perfect for a warm summer evening! They’re all so different and I think they’re just fabulous!

When I first saw this crochet dress, I fell in love with the tortoise chain halter! It drapes beautifully and the slit on the side gives it that vavavoom look! This amazing dress will take you anywhere in style! I have it paired with a pair of cork sandals from Schutz and my Cult Gaia Ark bag along with some statement earrings and a fabulous gold bracelet!

I love pieces that are versatile and this dress definitely falls into that category! Style it with flats or heels…either would be great and booties would be fabulous going into fall! The bell sleeves and founcy ruffle give this dress so much style and it’s very comfortable! I’m wearing it with Gucci block heel sandals and a very old Kate Spade bag that I still love! I’ve linked a similar bag.
This floral maxi is such a fun dress and screams “resort”! The ruching in the front makes it so flattering and the slit will let a little air in during these warm days! Wear it with fancy flats or espadrilles! Mine are from Valentino.
How’s the weather where you are and how are you keeping cool?
Thanks so much for reading today…what happened to the comments? Let me know what you think!
I’m sharing a boutique below with a few other favorite pieces from Boston Proper!

You look dazzling in all three dresses! I am usually chasing grandchildren and in this hot weather shorts and tees are my uniform.
Hi Harriet
I know about chasing grandchildren and these are not the dresses to be wearing for that! It is so hot here too and I’m headed to the pool for a bit! Have a great weekend and thanks so much for your comment!
Love the dresses and love you! We’ve been on vacation and also just trying to stay cool. We’ve had some brutally hot days! (Like everywhere else it seems!) Wishing you and your clan all the best!
Hi Barbara!
Thank you so much…these are fun dresses but all I want to wear right now are shorts because it’s so hot here too! 100 degrees today I think!
We are all great and having the best summer! Sending lots of love to you!
Hey there Suzanne!
Just so you know I’m still reading and enjoying the things you post (that embroidered flower jacket…so in love) been working so much lately it’s hard to not drop a ball now and then.
BUT…that doesn’t mean I’m not thinking about the subjects you bring up.
Case in point: your earlier post and the question on how I’m finishing up 2023. Answer: with one heck of a bang!
Started a new job…who says you can’t start something new at 50? HA. Beg to differ.
Book to publish…I’m in the home stretch with this…so much to do!
Beginning a new novel…because my inner muse is a sadistic slave driver who refuses to let me be lazy. To many stories to write.
Signing up to take some night classes concerning cyber security…because I’m a computer nerd on top of all my other craziness.
Then a trip to Texas to highjack our daughter and, with her in tow…I don’t care if I have to stuff her in a suitcase, she’s mine for 4 days, off to Colorado (to grab our daughters bestie who went through basic and South Korea with her…she’s kinda ours now… It’s amazing the family you can create…lol) to celebrate an early Christmas.
Whew.
To answer this post’s question:
It’s HOT…I’m melting…and I’m a sweaty beast. Thank goodness for personal fans and ice water…lots of ice water.
You look great in all the dresses…that jacket though and the brown halterish top… love.
Best to you and yours!
Hi April
I LOVE YOUR COMMENT AND THANK YOU! Wow you are one busy lady and it all sounds so interesting!
What is your novel about and I’m assuming it’s not your first one!
What is your new job? I totally agree that it’s never never never too late to start something new!
I wish I was more of a computer nerd because I have trouble with the technical side of my blog some times so I have to get a little help!
It is amazing that you get to choose your own family and I know that when people go through basic together, they become really close so I’m happy that your daughter and her friend get to spend this time together!
Stay cool…drink that water and keep reading when you can!
You’re the best!
