LOVE ACCEPTS YOU FULLY AS YOU ARE. NOT AS YOU THINK YOU SHOULD BE, BUT AS YOU ARE, RIGHT NOW.
Your life will begin to change the moment you realize how important it is that you forgive yourself. We are so hard on ourselves, we all have moments when we’ve done something we wish we hadn’t. So instead of letting it ruin your day, instead of dwelling on it, instead of perpetuating those feelings of guilt and self hatred…why not just let it go. In the moment that you feel regret, self hatred, self judgement, LET IT GO AND FORGIVE YOURSELF. After all, you can’t go back and change what happened, but you can move forward and choose differently in the next moment. Every moment is an opportunity to begin again and see things differently. It’s an opportunity to change your perception and it will change your life. You will screw up again, because we all do, but experience those moments differently. Choose to meet those moments with a new intention. When you are able to add up those shifts of forgiving yourself (it becomes a practice) instead of beating yourself up over and over again, you give yourself permission to move on and be happy. When you stay in a place of self attack and self judgement, you cannot change. Your life stays in chaos and you will repeat the same behavior over and over again. Does any of this resonate with you?
Forgiving yourself is a choice …it’s choosing happiness. You don’t have to do anything except in your mind, choose to let things go. Choose to be ok with whatever just happened because you can’t go back and change it. If you set an intention to forgive yourself, you are giving yourself the biggest gift of all. It will allow you to move forward and step out of the chaos and repetitive behavior. When you stay mad at yourself and live in regret and guilt, you have given up your power. Forgiveness is taking back your power, moving on and doing things differently next time.
Thank you for this, Suzanne! I didn’t know I needed to hear this but I did! You are right! Forgiveness is such a huge part of life – something I struggle with. Thank you, again. I feel better about myself and life after reading this. 🙂
Hi Barbara

Yes!! Thanks❤️
Love you Patty!
Thank you, your post came at a perfect time💕 Whatis your process for forgiving yourself?
It’s not always easy, but it’s just choosing to move on and focus my attention on something else. Some days, it’s a moment by moment process.
Suzanne, thank you for the reminder for myself and for yourself. It is messages like these that really make me appreciate how amazing this blogging community is. We are all humans, all struggling through this life, one day at a time. We all sometimes feel so isolated in those struggles, but then we find posts like this that make us realize that we are never ever alone. There is an entire world of other people who are willing to share their stories and their experiences with us to help us through! I am needing some blogger friend time soon. I am always so inspired after spending time with all of you empowering women! I hope you are doing well, my friend!

Hi Shelbee…you are so right! The blogger community is for the most part so supportive and I’m really proud to be part of such a wonderful group of supportive women who truly want to make the world a better place…thank you so much for your comment!
Hi Suzanne,
The ladies who got here earlier said it already, but what perfect timing for this post, and thank you!
I’ve learned that I am always so willing to forgive others, but much harder on myself and all my mistakes and (perceived) failures. Letting go and forgiving myself is HARD. But, holding on to guilt and anger and disappointment can literally cause pain and illness in the body. I had to learn the hard way, do the hard work and I continue to remind myself every day to LET IT GO, and then the expansion of health and growth can continue. Not that I do a perfect job at that every day, but still. I feel so empowered when I remind myself that I have a choice about how I feel – about myself, and everyone and everything.
XO
Heidi
Hi Heidi
Sometimes, it’s so much easier to forgive others than to forgive ourselves and yes when we’re so hard on ourselves, it can surely cause illness. I wonder why it is that it’s human nature to be so hard on ourselves. It’s a daily practice for sure! The one thing to remember is that we are all fighting the same battle and compassion is a good thing!
