2 Ways to Wear Sweaters for Spring + So Much Gratitude and a Link-Up Party

01

I started to call this post “How to match your sweater to the furniture”, but decided to be a little more practical in the end. I did seriously plan my outfit around the chair in the first set of pictures. I’ve written about this chair on Instagram, but in case you missed it…I bought this chair probably 20 some years ago at a Salvation Army thrift store. We had just moved into a new house, our daughters were little and there wasn’t much money to buy new chairs, so I went on the hunt for something cool and interesting that I could have recovered. I hit the jackpot with this chair that I paid $12 for! You just don’t forget something like a $12 chair. Since then, I’ve had it recovered several times, but this time is my favorite! For some reason, I’ve been craving pink and this fabric has satisfied my craving for now! It’s so luxurious and I’m in love with it…I call it my boudoir chair. It’s in our bathroom and sprucing up the space very beautifully. You just never know what treasures you might find if you look for them!

About the outfit – I found this adorable pink sweater at Anthropologie a few weeks ago when I was looking for something to wear for Valentine’s Day. I wore it with high waisted, cream color wide leg pants and sky high grey booties. It was just what I was looking for and I was thrilled that it was half price. It is cropped, and needs to be worn with high waisted pants, in my opinion. I am just starting to embrace high waisted pants because I’m so short waisted myself and I struggle with how to style them. I can’t tuck anything in because it cuts me right off in the middle and looks ridiculous. Cropped sweaters are the answer for me. I have purchased several and I’m playing around with styling them so that I can share in a video and/or blog post soon! The sweater is no longer available but I’ve linked several at different price points. The jeans I’m wearing are by McGuire (my favorite brand). The light wash is perfect for spring and to wear with pastels. I added my white booties for what I think is a great outfit!

The second sweater is one purchased from Vici! I have fallen in love with this company because they have so many cute things at really great prices. As you all know, I love leopard anything and this sweater is no exception. The white background makes it great to wear in the spring and the yellow is so on trend as well. The fact that the pillows on my sofa match the sweater is pure coincidence! I’ve linked several similar sweaters below that will be great for the spring season (you’re on your own for the matching fabric)!

As a sidenote, I had several comments about the pillow fabric when I posted this picture on Instagram. It is Scalamandre Tiger print in brown/gold.

Now for the Gratitude – Recently, I started going live on Instagram a couple of times a week and sharing easy recipes that have just a few ingredients and can be prepared quickly. I thought it would be helpful because we are all so busy, but at the same time, we want to eat healthy meals. Sometimes, just coming up with an idea can be exhausting! After the live videos are over, I save them and share to Facebook so they live there without going away. I have received so much support and love in the form of sweet comments and beautiful pictures of the food that people are preparing. I cannot tell you all how good you’ve made me feel and how much I appreciate your overwhelming support. I’m going to be going live on Instagram at least twice a week for as long as I can. I’ve had requests for easy to make slow cooker recipes, stir fries, delicious dips to serve at parties and gatherings and just this morning a request for a shrimp recipe. Thank you all so much for watching. I try to post on my story shortly before going live just to give people a heads up. My next video will be Thursday afternoon and I’ll be making something delicious in the slow cooker.

I’m also planning to create more food and fashion videos for my YouTube channel and I hope you’ve been enjoying the ones that I’ve made up to now. If you do, please subscribe to my channel and give me a thumbs up! It would mean the world to me and will allow me to continue to grow!

I would have never guessed you were short waisted. You hide it well. I am too and it’s so hard to dress sometimes. Both of these sweaters are darling and they go perfectly with your decor. LOL Have a great day! XO

      Hi Lisa

I am so short waisted and have had a really hard time with these high waisted jeans. I feel like I have jeans up to my rib cage and it’s not so comfortable, but I’m trying to embrace the trend. The good news is that low waisted ones are starting to come back thank goodness!

I will admit that I planned my outfit around the pink chair haha!
      Have a great week!
