Wide leg cropped pants are everywhere this season and don’t show signs of going away anytime soon. I am not tall, 5’4″ in fact, and short waisted. Because of this, it can be a little tricky to style pants that are cropped AND high waisted. I really need to make sure that I’m not visually cutting myself in half by tucking a shirt into high waisted pants. Every time I’ve worn these white pants by Club Monaco, in the past, I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve worn the very same sweater with them. I decided to mix things up a little and I paired them with a floral blouse (last seen here) from Ann Taylor. It’s very thin and somewhat sheer so I was able to pull it out a bit at the waist, making it blouse over and not define my waist so much. I added a pair of Stuart Weitzman wedges and came up with this outfit. Everything I’m wearing is several seasons old, but new again because I’m wearing all of it in a different way.
If you’re looking for a pair of cropped wide leg pants, make sure to find the perfect length. You want some ankle to show.
Unless you’re really tall, the best shoe for cropped is one with a heel. I’ve seen Adidas sneakers paired with these pants and it’s NOT a trend that I’m loving.
Be creative and try on different tops, blouses and shoes until you find the look that is right for you. Every body type is different!
I’m also enjoying the statement earring trend this summer and I’ve included some links for favorite pairs at different price ranges!

Thank you so much Nancy!!
Hey there! I just popped back after reading and commenting on the blog post at You Look Fab!. You look fabulous in all of the photos they posted! You always inspire me to do a little more and try something different and new-to-me in the style department!
I always thought that you were much taller than me and therefore able to wear different things so well. Ha! I have an inch on you! But, you are so slim, I think that definitely makes a difference, especially when wearing the cropped/wide-legged look. I am a little more curvy and no matter how hard I try I just can’t make it work on me! I wind up looking stumpy and frumpy. But I do love the look on you! And of course you rock those high heels, every time! I’m not going to lie, I think wearing high heels for any longer than a few hours anymore is torture and I miss them occasionaly, but comfort is more important to me now!
Anyway, I don’t mean to ramble on and on. I’m looking forward to reading your E-book which I just downloaded, and perhaps spending some time checking out some of your earlier fashion posts, for some more inspiration!

You made me laugh out loud when you said "ha I have an inch on you"! I guess we discover what looks best on us as we get older! I honestly would prefer to wear jeans all the time, but I try to mix it up sometimes. The heels…I do really love! I didn’t realize! OMG I LOVE YOUR ART! I’m so drawn to color and your colors are so vibrant and beautiful! Thanks for telling me!! Do you have a website?
No, not yet. I’ve been trying to get my website up and running but haven’t made much progress! For now it’s all about the Instagram account!! Which is a major time sink but a good way to get exposure and “meet” new artists, and fashionable people like you!
I love this look so much! I will be trying to recreate for sure. So beautiful!
