I took a much need blogging break this past weekend and spent the weekend in Blowing Rock North Carolina with my friend Britt, my daughter Lauren and her husband Chris and sweet baby Hudson! I did yoga on Britt’s deck and looked out over Grandfather Mountain at all the beauty of nature. We shopped the cute boutiques in Blowing Rock, ate delicious food and enjoyed each other’s company!
About the Fashion
Classic white with light wash denim is always a classic combination for spring and summer and you can never go wrong with mint chocolate chip ice cream!
I found this cute cutwork lace top at my favorite local boutique, Rebecca & Co, and paired it with cropped and frayed McGuire jeans (they also came from Rebecca & Co), Chinese Laundry booties and then threw on my white sunglasses from Target. I wore a flesh color bandeau under the lace top and let the breeze blow through! It truly is a perfect top for summer! I’ve been wearing a lot of colored denim lately and of course this top would be perfect with colored denim.
These pictures were taken at our cute local ice cream shop, Smitty’s. The ice cream is delicious and they have so many flavors to choose from but mint chocolate chip is my favorite!
I have been wearing these Chinese Laundry boots nonstop since I got them! I had a similar pair last year and wore them out, so I was so happy to find these! They also come in white and I’m seriously considering getting them.

As soon as the weather heats up here I’m pulling out my new white lace top! In the meantime I still can’t leave the house without a sweater or jacket, and a scarf. It’s in the 60’s every day, darn these coastal breezes!
My youngest daughter attends Appalachian State in Boone. Blowing Rock is a fun place to visit, .I’m looking forward to spending some time there again in August when I get out to visit her! We enjoy the shopping and we found a delicious Italian deli that’s at a repurposed gas station, of all places! We had a lovely lunch on their patio, surrounded by gas pumps. It was different and fun!

My daughter and son-in-law both went to Appalachian State and my nephew is there now! It was pretty gloomy on Saturday but yesterday was really warm and nice! We had plenty of outdoor time and it was nice!
I love the shopping in Blowing Rock and got a really great new journal at one of the shops that I can’t wait to start writing in! I haven’t tried the Italian place, but it sounds like so much fun! There are new places popping up all of the time! We ate at the Speckled Trout for lunch one day and it was my favorite!
