Most people have heard of CBD oil, but most don’t actually understand the benefits and facts about the buzzed about hemp plant extract. My curiosity was getting the best of me and I had been looking for the best CBD oil to purchase when I found out that my friend Susan Crews had started a CBD oil company called Huntsboro Hemp. I was excited to learn more about her CBD oil and immediately invited her over to have a conversation! CBD is changing the way millions of people heal themselves and it’s making major waves in the health community. If you’re Interested in finding out more, read on…
First of all here is a little info about Huntsboro Hemp. The company was founded in 2018 to bring high-quality, locally-sourced industrial hemp products to North Carolina and beyond. The co-founders combined their experiences in the agricultural, health and wellness, and business industries to leap into the emerging industrial hemp industry. Huntsboro Hemp provides an all-natural supplement that is grown in a safe, natural environment, processed in clean, approved facilities, and shipped all over the country.
CBD has been popping up everywhere in the health world, boasting benefits like pain relief, diminished anxiety, better sleep and reduced inflammation. CBD stands for cannabidiol and is a non-psychoactive component of the cannabis plant. There are over 400 chemical compounds in the cannabis plant, but unlike the most commonly known ‘tetrahydrocannabinol’ (THC), CBD will not get you high. CBD has many medicinal benefits, and our bodies respond to it well, perhaps because it’s naturally produced in women’s breastmilk! Cannabinoids are vital for the growth and development of newborns.
Susan Crews is owner of North Carolina based Huntsboro Hemp and I sat down and asked her a few questions about her products.
Not surprisingly, the debate surrounding cannabis is a polarizing one. What are some common misconceptions about CBD?
People assume that because CBD comes from a cannabis plant that it will get you high, however, that isn’t the case. CBD must contain less than .03% THC. Huntsboro Hemp products begin with an isolate, therefore, they are THC free.
What are the benefits of using CBD?
People have been using CBD for thousands of years and it seems that everyone can benefit from CBD. CBD is as all-natural treatment for pain relief, anxiety and PTSD, but growing research and user experience is arguing that CBD can be effective in treating more serious medical conditions as well. CBD oil has a long list of benefits, including:
reducing chronic pain
limiting epileptic seizures
reducing inflammation
reducing anxiety
aiding in rheumatoid arthritis treatment
reducing nausea
depression treatment
lessening inflammatory bowel disease symptoms
helping with insomnia
reducing psoriasis
lower risk of diabetes
I’m ready to start experimenting with CBD, how should I consume it and how often should I consume it?
Huntsboro Hemp CBD comes in three different tinctures…sleep, awake and relief.
Relief – is for inflammation, pain, and anxiety.
Awake – aids in focus and energy. This is the tincture I take in the mornings.
Sleep – of course, is for sleep. All of the tinctures use local honey as a natural sweetener and different terpenes for different applications. Shake the bottle well before opening and getting a dropper of oil. Place it under your tongue for 20 seconds – 1 minute and then swallow. The dosage of CBD oil is different for every person and also depends upon the strength of the oil. Susan suggests that you start with one dropper of Huntsboro Hemp CBD and go from there.
Huntsboro Hemp also offers honey sticks that contain 10 mg. CBD and these are great for adding to tea, drizzling over oatmeal or just consuming as is.
Why Huntsboro Hemp?
The Huntsboro Hemp Research & Development team has used a variety of terpenes, locally-sourced honey, and CBD isolate to formulate tinctures that not only taste good, but also use naturally occurring elements to enhance our lives. Terpenes are found in plants and not only do they provide taste and aroma, but they also give our bodies tools to function better. When combined with CBD oil, they work to provide relief, sleep, or energy throughout the day.
Huntsboro Hemp is insured and all of their suppliers are certified and insured as well. They guarantee that their product has 0% THC.
What are the laws around CBD, especially in states where marijuana illegal?
In North Carolina, the Industrial Hemp Act has allowed statewide cultivation, processing, and distribution for 3 years. Laws and regulations vary from state to state. Click here to read more about the legalization of CBD.

That’s so good to know! I have enjoyed the great nights sleep the most! I figure, it can’t hurt…so why not give it a try! I’m so sorry to hear about your dog and I’m glad it’s working. I know so many people that give CBD to their dogs and have loved the results! Happy New Year!
I was given CDB oil by my doctor for anxiety and found it just makes me tired and lethargic, so I only use it at night and rarely at that. I’ve had it for six months, and have used it about four or five times. Twice during the day to see how I felt and a few times to calm down before going to sleep. It was kind of spotty with the sleep, one of the nights I slept well, the others I didnt. For me, the jury is still out. Several friends are using it and a couple of them have started businesses like your friend. It’s going to be interesting to see what the industry is like in a few years. As always, you do such a great job covering these topics.
Hi Nina! I agree that it will be very interesting to see what the industry is like! I have enjoyed using it, but I think it depends on so many things and our bodies tell us what is right and what isn’t. Thanks so much for reading! Happy New Year!
