A Mixed Bag…Shopping, Inspiration, and My Beautiful Grandson

01

Today’s post is such a mixed bag, but I want to share a story with you.  The other day, someone said something to me that really hurt my feelings.  I allowed it to ruin two whole days of my life…I didn’t sleep, I started to criticize myself for everything and I just got into a crazy funk!  I know better than that!!!  Last night, in the middle of the night, after getting up for the second time, worrying that I didn’t have a good blog post, and that I had eaten too much for dinner, etc., etc., etc., I finally let it all go.  I decided that things were fine, all was well, my family was safe and home, and I had an incredible feeling of peace and well being wash over me!  At that point, I went to sleep and slept very peacefully.  I got up this morning, taught what I thought was a really great yoga class, and I’ve had a great day!  The lesson here is that we can’t let someone else’s opinions, comments, etc., affect our lives.  When others criticize us, it comes from their insecurity.  Sometimes, that’s really hard to remember, especially for women of my generation, because we’ve been taught to please, but it’s so important!

I wanted to share this story because I thought it might help someone in the same situation.  During the holidays, memories come up, people are stressed, and things sometimes get said that shouldn’t be said.  Remember to celebrate the good, and let the past be in the past, where it belongs.  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

It is amazing how we can take negativity and let it spoil our days. I have fretted over a family situation this week but I turned it over to God on the second day and feel much better. Your grandson is adorable, love those grandbabies.
