I was with my photographer the other day and ran upstairs to change clothes…thinking I was putting on a completely different look than the one I’m wearing in these pictures. I took off my top and threw on this amazing red floral jacket, intending to wear it with some black pants when I caught a glance of the outfit in the mirror and decided it was perfect and “so me” with the jeans I already had on! Of course, most everything goes with jeans so it’s no surprise, but I really love this totally unintentional look!

As I’ve gotten older, I’m definitely craving more color in my wardrobe. I’ve always loved bold color in our home, yet somehow my closet…especially in the fall and winter, is filled with camels, grays, blacks, and browns. Lately, though, I’ve been intentionally purchasing pieces that bring color back into my everyday outfits, pieces I can just as easily pair with jeans, black pants, or the skirts I’ve been reaching for more often…which is why I bought this jacket. Color truly is a mood lifter, and what I love most is how beautifully the neutral staples I already own, highlight brighter shades like red, pink and blues that I’m drawn to lately, rather than compete with them.

I’ve looked and looked for a pair of loose fitting jeans that worked with my body type and finally found these from Still Here New York. These jeans are right on trend, they’re very comfortable and are perfect with this cropped jacket! I added my Savette suede bag, gold Mary Janes from Amazon and Voila…this cute outfit was born! I love to be able to say that an outfit is classic, comfortable and on trend at the same time! I’m completely obsessed with this look!
