4 Ways to Style Straight Leg Jeans

While IMHO skinny jeans will never go out of style, there are also other styles that are flattering and easy to wear. I’m short, so I almost always buy cropped jeans and especially when they’re the straight leg style.

The straight-leg silhouette is a comfortable classic, designed to sit high on your hips and drop straight down to the hem. Not only has this style stood the test of time, but can also be effortlessly worn any time of the year. Make this silhouette your fall go-to by pairing your jeans with a sweater and booties, or slip into a strappy heel and a lace blouse.

My biggest tip for wearing straight leg jeans is to do whatever you can to elongate your legs. Personally, I find that ankle length straight leg jeans help make that possible because they show a little more skin. If they’re too long, that’s when you run the risk of making yourself look short and stumpy. If you’re on the shorter side (like me), have your jeans hemmed if you’re finding that they’re too long. The jeans I’m wearing here are by Citizens of Humanity. I like jeans that have some distressing because I think it’s a more interesting look and I especially like the contrast with a dressier blouse. I think a utility jacket is a great piece to have in your wardrobe for fall on the days when you need an extra layer…it’s really very neutral and goes with so much!

The western trend is huge this season but you don’t have to go full on with your outfit. My boots from Ba&sh have a western flair and add just a touch of the trend so it’s more understated. I picked up the tank at a boutique in Nashville last summer, but I’ve linked similar.

As you’ve probably noticed, I have a little obsession with Ba&sh Paris and the top I’m wearing will, I’m sure, be one of my most worn tops of the fall season. I love the way it’s styled and it’s black…so it goes with everything! Speaking of most worn - my sandals from Staud are almost worn out because I wear them so often. They are almost sold out, but I’ve linked a very similar styles. This outfit is easy and classic!

Another beautiful top from Ba&sh Paris…this will definitely be my Thanksgiving top and I may just wear the whole outfit if we decide to be casual. It’s silky and the fall colors are beautiful. I have several pairs of these boots from Marc Fisher…I find them so comfortable and versatile. They run true to size and come in so many colors.

My entire outfit here is from Loft with a Tory Burch crossbody bag and another pair of Marc Fisher booties. Loft jeans fit me really well and are very affordable!
