Winter Home Edit & Life Lately

Every year after the holidays are over, I begin to wonder if people who live in areas where there are seasons (specifically cold ones) are meant to hybernate?! This past week has been so cold that I really haven’t wanted to leave the house and I’m considering. moving to Miami (haha)! But…since that’s not a serious option, I’ve tried to stay warm and busy working, cooking and getting organized. I know when Archie (our new Doodle) comes in a little while I’ll be busy with him and so…yesterday I got gates, a new crate, a new harness, puppy food, treats and all the other things that he’ll need.

Chunky glass candlesticks have transformed my dining room table from boring to fabulous. It all started with a pair of glass candlesticks that held pillar candles…they were heavy and substantial and beautiful, but one lonely pair just didn’t make the statement I wanted. So…I bought more, this time, three taller ones that were different heights and they were pretty, but still…not enough. Finally, I found the last pair (huge and tall) and added a beautiful and very large wine colored shell shaped bowl in the middle and that made me happy! Of course, I’ll change the bowl out seasonally for other things, but the candlesticks will most likely remain for quite a while! There is nothing quite like the glow of a room lit with candlelight…it’s moody, romantic and just feels special!

It’s taken a number of years, but I have a vision for where things are going with our home and even though I can’t do everything at once, the plan is coming together!

My daughter gave me these beautiful candle holders from Anthropologie for Christmas and I adore them!

The candles are sitting atop one of my favorite decor books…

And…a little This & That!

One of my favorite blogs is Make Mine a Spritzer and the last post is a must read for the new year! I immediately ordered the cookbook she recommended - The Cook's Atelier: Recipes, Techniques, and Stories from Our French Cooking School, along with several other things! I’m so inspired by other bloggers close to my age and if you don’t know this blog, you’re going to absolutely love it!

I saved this image from Pinterest and thought I might try to make a similar one for Valentine’s Day…so pretty!

I’ve had a little change up here at Crazy Blonde Life and my daughter Sarah is helping me! We’re still in a stage of transition and I’m looking for someone to help me film my cooking videos, but have found an amazing photographer! Change always brings growth and learning but isn’t always easy! I’m so excited to work with Sarah as we learn together and make Crazy Blonde Life even better! I’ll be back with new recipes ASAP!

Archie will be here in less than two hours so I’m signing off now! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post!

Thanks so much for reading today! As always…I looooove your comments!
