What to Wear Right Now...
Now thatβs itβs officially September, itβs time to start dressing for fall (or at least thinking about it)!
It might be the end of summer, but mentallyβ¦Iβll admit, Iβm in sweater-weather mode and thinking about all the cute fall outfits to put together as the temperatures start to drop! Transitional looks can be easy to recreate by mixing and matching pieces from various seasons into your wardrobe.
Start by incorporating your favorites from summer into your fall fashion arsenal. A lightweight top and jeans paired with chunky boots can instantly add a fall feelβ¦also, consider adding a coordinating scarf for another layer of interest.
You could also add a chunky sweater to a long sleeve midi dress or throw on a pullover and wear it with a shorter skirt and tall boots. Even easier would be to simply wear a fun cropped cardigan with your summer tops to extend them into the fall season.
No matter what vibe youβre going for this fall, the key to building a successful cold-weather wardrobe starts with pieces that offer what fickle temperatures demandβ¦layers, layers, and more layers. Today, Iβve rounded up some pieces I think are great as well as ideas to take them into the cooler weather. Hopefully this will help you to start planningβ¦and shopping! Everything Iβm linking in this post will be in a boutique at the end and I know youβll love it all!
Consider adding a warm vest such as this one from BB Dakota when the weather starts to get cooler. This cute vest comes in 2 colors and youβll wear it all fall and winter. Replace the cute Gucci mules (less expensive here) for a pair of boots. Iβm loving these suede boots from Dolce Vitaβ¦they come in 4 colors!
The neckline and puff sleeves on the shirt above makes it a little harder to layer, but I would most definitely trade out the sneakers for a pair of Marc Fisher booties!
This cardigan from Barefoot Dreams is one of the best layering pieces to take anything from jeans to sweat pants to joggers right into fall (also love this one as well as this one. Add it to this outfit with the white top and trade out the sandals for these boots for a touch of the western trend that is huge right now!
Even though these great clogs will still be great for at least another month, consider taking a walk on the wild side with these snakeskin booties from Tory Burch! I think theyβre amazing with the blouse!
Iβm pretty obsessed with the Stella McCartney clogs, but if you want your foot covered, consider these that I just purchased from Ba&sh Paris and tie a scarf around your neck or wrist for added interest!
You might also want to consider investing in a neutral vest to layer over blouses, something pink, and a western style hat to top things off!
