Wearing a Tangerine Caftan
At times, we let our past identity dictate the decisions we’re making in the present because it’s who we believe we are. You can change the memory of your past by making different decisions now. You begin to look back and appreciate things that you thought you never would. Things that made you who you are today. That can be good or bad based on the decisions you make from moment to moment. What you say yes to today makes you who you are tomorrow and determines your success and happiness!
I really enjoyed wearing this beautiful tangerine caftan from Julie Miles while at Bald Head Island. Of course, I accessorized with my Julie Miles cross necklace (shown here in silver) and bracelets also designed by Julie. This caftan is so perfect for vacation because it’s loose and airy and catches the breeze beautifully, and the silk fabric feels luxurious! I felt really feminine and pretty wearing this to dinner and got so many compliments! I paired it with Stuart Weitzman wedges (similar here) that have been on the blog many times and my curly hair.
I’ve been wearing my hair curly the whole time we’ve been here because of the humidity. The sun is also an issue because it can be hard on blonde hair …it tends to turn it into a brassy blonde instead of the honey blonde color that’s my preference. To combat that, I’ve been using a purple shampoo and conditioner by Redken twice a week to keep my hair from looking brassy.
Sadly, it’s our last day here on Bald Head until September. I feel totally rested and relaxed, and leaving is always hard. I guess it’s time to get back to reality now. I’m truly grateful for the time that I’ve been able to spend here with friends and family. This island is so much a part of me…we’ve made great memories here and will make many more in the future!
Just a note about Julie’s jewelry website…it’s designed as a look book because so many of Julie’s pieces are one-of-a-kind and her inventory changes so quickly. Her contact information is on the website so if you’re interested in any of the pieces you see there…contact Julie directly! She would love to hear from you! Just tell her that The Crazy Blonde sent you!
