The Mood is Autumn In Paris

Autumn in Paris is a beautiful tapestry of glorious color. It’s a time when you want to walk for miles and see all there is to see…stopping along the way for a nibble, a cup of cafe au lait or a glass of wine.

As the leaves put on a show, the city's parks, such as the Jardin des Tuileries and Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, fill with people…talking, having picnics and enjoying the fall colors. The crisp air is scented with the aroma of freshly baked pastries from the cafés nearby and it’s intoxicating just being part of it all!

As the days grow shorter, the streetlights cast a glow over the city and the iconic Eiffel Tower sparkles in the distance. This city is a backdrop for fashion, culture, beauty and romance…it’s the City of Light!

Me with my daughter Sarah is Paris

I’m so glad I have been able to visit Paris several times in my life and hopefully I’ll be back soon! I’ve only been once in the Autumn but it was my favorite trip because the weather was absolutely perfect! When my daughter and son-in-law lived in Germany, we took a short flight to Paris, with the then 2 year old in tow. It was a surprisingly easy flight and we strolled that cute baby all over Paris. He loved the pigeons!

Because the weather was so perfect we only needed sweaters or jackets in the morning and by afternoon it was very pleasant! It was a busy time in the city, (but when is Paris not busy?) and the people watching was beyond interesting!

We made the most of the trip by walking almost everywhere, eating as much as possible and shopping as much as possible! We took a gourmet walking tour of Montmartre that was so much fun and very filling! We ate everything from delicious chocolate, freshly made Pate a Choux (cream puffs), macrons and oysters, and we ended in a charming little restaurant for a delicious wine and cheese tasting! It was a highlight of our trip!

We took pictures at the Eiffel Tower, went to the Ritz for tea and made sure to visit the Gucci store where were treated like queens! We did all of this in three days and when we got back we were exhausted but it was so much fun and I have the best memories with my family!

Back in October of 2019, I took a trip to Provence with my friend Britt and it is also a beautiful area to visit in the fall! You might also enjoy this post of my French Dinner Party!

I realized in looking back that I never posted about our trip to Paris! You know I took lots of pictures, so I’ll make a post about where we went and what we did while we were there!

But alas, I’m sitting in the metropolis of Burlington, North Carolina wishing I were in Paris as I know it’s the best time to be there! Determined to make the most of things…I put together an outfit that I would wear out to a casual dinner in Paris.

Slingback pumps seem very sophisticated and very Parisian so I started with this fabulous and very comfortable (perfect for walking) pair from Inez. Next I added my favorite flare jeans from Veronica Beard and a peplum sleeveless mock neck sweater from Anthropologie (very affordable) along with a red patent leather bag from Frances Valentine! The sweater is a node to fall while it’s still somewhat warm and I love the pop of red from the bag that gives the outfit a bit more interest!

While I don’t have the backdrop of the beautiful city of Paris, I can still dress well and dream!

If you haven’t discovered Inez shoes, you are missing out on some of the most comfortable and stylish shoes available. The are made in Spain for women who love heels and want comfort! Inez makes every style you can imagine so be sure to check them out, especially if you’re taking a trip where you’ll be walking and want to be stylish and comfortable!
