The 8 Most Wearable Fashion Trends for Spring 2021
Happy March…can you believe it’s finally here! Spring starts soon, so this post about the most wearable trends for the season is very timely! I’m getting ready…
Every season, there are many new trends…some are variations on classics that will never go out of style - think trench coats and florals. Some are a continuation of a trend from last season such as lug soles…in my opinion, lug soles are great on boots and absolutely horrible on sandals, but to each his own! Either way, it’s fun to follow the trends, see what people are wearing and then choose the ones that are right for you!
My goal in writing this post today is to pick the trends that I think are the most wearable and share options with you! I’ve included a boutique below each of the 8 trends to make shopping easier!
Florals
I’m fully aware that “florals are hardly groundbreaking for spring”, but this year they are back and bigger and bolder than ever. You’ll find everything from golden yellows to bold tulip prints. When I think about getting dressed for a spring event, my mind automatically goes to a floral dress or blouse. There are many patterns and variations to choose from and definitely something for everyone! One of the things I love about florals is that they can be on anything from bags to shoes to blouses to dresses and anyone can incorporate them easily. One of my favorite ways to wear florals is wearing a floral blouse with distressed jeans and sandals! Below, you’ll find plenty of favorites to choose from!
Shades of Khaki
Mix up all your go-to denim looks with lighter shades of khaki. The tan cotton fabric, often reserved for high school boys and suburban dads is getting a high-fashion turn. Pair anything with khaki pants and you’ll find so many interesting styles to choose from…oversized and slouchy, classic and cropped with wide legs. You’ll love wearing a really feminine top, tailored blazer and pastel spring sweaters. This trend will make your life easy!
Trench Coats
Trenches will be a spring “trend” every year, but this year, not only will you find classic shapes but you’ll also find lots of drama. If you’re looking for a practical statement piece, a new trench with dramatic lapels or bold sleeves might be just the thing. A trench can work…right now and these trendy, but practical coats can solve many fashion problems because they complete almost any outfit with polish.
Statement Sleeves
What started as a nod to the ’80s has taken on a life of its own! Blouses with statement sleeves and standout shoulders have become more than a throwback and grown into a full on fabulous trend. Statement sleeves are anything but subtle. With this trend, make sure that you wear the shirt and it doesn’t wear you…one size doesn’t fit all!
Pastels
The pastel trend is of my favorite trends. A touch of pastel makes any outfit feel like spring. The colors range from buttercup yellow to beautiful peony pinks and soft mint green. This trend is seen on every item of clothing as well as handbags and shoes.
White Dresses
Trade in your little black dress and make a statement with white this spring. Nothing says spring and summer quite like a pretty little white eyelet dress. Spotted everywhere from Chanel to Jacquemus, these sweet dress will be your go-to once the temperature start to rise.
Bootcut Denim
Classic skinnies and ankle jeans are always going to be a classic trend (is there such a thing?), but designers have taken your favorites a step further this year. I am a hardcore denim fan and usually can be found wearing some kind of jeans so I’m happy to have some options to choose from! One of my favorite of the options is bootcut jeans, although another real trend that I don’t mind at all is boyfriend jeans. Boyfriend jeans are great for those days when you’re seriously running around and need to be comfortable while bootcut jeans make more of a style statement and also can make your legs look miles long. Any wash you choose is great for spring!
Boyfriend Blazer
Create a long line silhouette and play with shapes with an 80s-inspired oversized boyfriend blazer. With the help of shoulder pads, this outerwear cinches in your waist and elongates your legs. Rock this look with a pair of straight-leg trousers or leather shorts for an ultra-modern style – colors that suit this trend are powder blue, charcoal, and neutrals. You can easily dress this up or down for an effortlessly chic aesthetic.
Other trends you might want to look for are cat-eye sunglasses, heavy chain necklaces, and clothing with cut-outs.
Does this list have you craving spring fashion? Which trends are you looking forward to most?
