Styling Winter Neutrals

Happy 2023! I hope you all had a great holiday and are ready to jump into 2023! I’ve been taking some time off (okay…yesterday) to rest because I can’t seem to shake this annoying cough that I’ve had for 3 weeks! It has really caused me to slow down, even though I haven’t wanted to but I still did manage to get the Christmas tree down!

Yesterday, I made our traditional New Year’s Day lunch with all of the foods for luck and prosperity…black eyed peas, collard greens, coconut rice (not traditional but delish), cornbread and chocolate pie. Baldy and I packed up the food, got Amos in the car and went to our daughter Lauren’s house to eat with them! It was a beautiful day and we had a great time! I’m going to post these recipes this week because they’re all so delicious and I can’t figure out why we only eat collard greens and black-eyed peas once a year!

When we got home yesterday, I took some time to start reflecting on 2022! For some reason, I haven’t been feeling that warm and fuzzy feeling about last year so it was good for me to look back and reflect! I’ll go into this more deeply in another post, but one thing I realized that I already knew is this…there is always always always something to be grateful for and usually much more that you see on the surface!

So…I always seem to turn a simple fashion post into more, but that’s how life is! A cute outfit is a great thing, but it’s just the icing on the cake because you look better in a cute outfit when you’re living your best life!

When January rolls around, I always want to add a few new pieces to my wardrobe to take me through the next couple of months! January and February can get a little monotonous after the excitement of the holidays and the sometimes dreary weather so a few fun pieces can add some excitement! Neutrals are always a good investment because they’re so versatile…keep scrolling for a few ideas if you’re looking for a few wardrobe updates!

If you haven’t tried a Veronica Beard dickey jacket worn with a dickey, it’s a must have! I don’t like to have bulk under a blazer so the dickey is the answer and they come in so many different styles so you can dress your blazer up or down!

Simple, chic and cozy! What more could you want from an outfit!

These fun little boots will add pizazz to any outfit and they’ll be great in spring and summer as well! The cozy coat is so stylish and well priced and I’m loving the wide leg jeans!

Another chic look that will go right into spring…obsessed with these fabulous boots!!

Brighten up a dreary day with an all white look! The red lipgloss is all the color you need!

I’m getting into the swing of 2023! I have some great posts coming up this week, including my Richmond Travel Guide and a Vision Board post and later today…my recipes for our New Year lunch! Be sure to check back often! Thanks so much for reading today!
