Styling an Embroidered Boho Blouse with Julie Miles Jewelry
Make your life a masterpiece, imagine no limitations on what you can be, have, or do!
I found this fabulous boho top by Free People at a little boutique on Bald Head Island called Island Passage. They have so many cute things that are perfectly beachy and I always find something that I can’t live without! Boho blouses are great with denim shorts and white jeans now and going into fall, I’ll wear this one with my favorite dark wash jeans (on sale at Nordstrom for the Anniversary Sale) for an easy everyday look.
My cross necklace, pearl bracelets and earrings are by Julie Miles and I love them with this blouse. Julie’s pearls are strung with leather, giving them more of a casual feel that goes with just about any look. I love to layer her pearl bracelets mixed with gold and silver bangles and cuffs. You can see more of Julie’s Miles Pearls on her website…It’s a look book of her beautiful jewelry.
Since I’ve been at the beach, I’ve loved layering on the bronzer and highlighter. I’ve even been wearing my bronzer as eyeshadow and applying it with a big angled brush. It seems to have a more natural look that way. Several of my favorites are the Tarte Pro Glo and Blush, Nars Bronzer/Blush Duo and the Dior Shimmering Glow Powder.
I’ve worn my hair curly everyday for almost a month because the humidity here is crazy. If I straighten it, the minute I walk outside it starts to curl again so I decided not to waste my time. I just wash it…I’ve been using Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner, followed by Kerastase Beach Wave Texture Spray, then I let it air dry and smooth on a little Ouai Hair Oil when it’s completely dry. It’s a good break for my hair and it’s always healthier in the summer because I don’t put heat on it as often.
I’m not sure what it is about the ocean, but I feel so inspired when I’m surrounded by this vast, seemingly endless body of water. I think that life can be like that…vast with endless possibilities. Take the time to enjoy each moment…to be aware of what the water feels like when it touches your legs and how warm the sunshine feels on your shoulders. Don’t let the beautiful moments of life pass because you’re distracted. Always remember that the process is more important than the destination . There will always be another goal, another dream to fulfill, no matter what you achieve in life. Find peace in the process and in the small moments that bring you joy!
I’ll be spending a few days here on Bald Head alone…working on the next issue of Blondie, by Crazy Blonde Life. The new issue comes out on August 1 and you can subscribe here! This issue includes articles about women entrepreneurs that will inspire you, everything you want to know about Botox (questions answered by my doctor), great summer recipes, essential fall fashion pieces (30 outfits with 20 pieces) and several new columns that will appear in each issue going forward. I have some amazing contributors on board and I promise, you’re going to love it! Immediately after this issue comes out, I’ll be working on the holiday issue…it’ll be Christmas in July for me!
I’ve made a little boutique of everything in this post (with similar blouses) to make it easier to shop!
Thanks so much for reading! Happy Sunday!
